More Billions for ACORN

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Mn) is sponsoring an amendment to limit the amount of taxpayer money that politically active groups, like ACORN, can get. Right now, ACORN is poised to get an additional $8.5 billion from the Obama administration. They would, in effect, be his "shock troops" and would do his bidding in future political projects.

Since 1994, ACORN has received more than $53 million in direct federal funding. And, over the years, ACORN and its employees have also been the subject of investigations, indictments, and consent decrees in states all across the nation for election-related activities that run afoul of the law.

This isn’t a political witch hunt, as many Democrats claim. The prosecutors who have brought the charges against ACORN and its employees are both Republican and Democrat. They’re doing their jobs, enforcing the law and protecting the integrity of the voting process.

Yet even as fresh charges were being filed against ACORN and its employees in Nevada and Pennsylvania, Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives worked to protect the stream of tax dollars to this organization. They stripped down language that I had put in a mortgage reform bill (HR 1728) – language that would have ensured that Congress sets a high bar for who has access to your tax dollars.

Congress and the Administration have been on a spending spree with your money, racking up trillion dollar deficits for years down the road. If Congress can’t draw the line here – if they can’t say that an organization repeatedly charged with violating the law and public trust should not have access to federal funds – where will they draw the line?

I urge you to sign this petition and join me in the fight to protect your tax dollars from being used and abused.

--Rep. Michele Bachmann

Speaker Pelosi, I think that Congress has a duty to the taxpayers to keep our hard-earned money out of the hands of those who play fast and loose with the law. I urge you to bring Congresswoman Michele Bachmann’s Taxpayer Protection and Anti-Fraud Act to the floor and to support its passage. I want to know if you are on the taxpayer’s side … or ACORN’s.

On her web page there is a petition. Please go there and sign it.

ACORN has been a blight on the political landscape since the 1980's. Many people don't know much about them because they stayed under the radar. ACORN is a corrupt, criminal organization - that is a fact. Now that they are more in the public view it is becoming more and more obvious that something must be done. The American Spectator reports that right now ACORN is getting involved in the very lucrative carbon emission business vis-a-vis Al Gore. This group will stop at nothing to gain money, power and influence.

This 2004 article in National Review by Meghan Clyne recaps all the hypocrisy, corruption and criminal activities of taxpayer-funded ACORN. As Meghan writes, all ACORN does is stand there and take money from Uncle Sam. She pulled tax records for one year, from one ACORN affiliate in NOLA. That office took in $1,710,203 in government grants that year.

And like a lost man in the wilderness I keep wondering where the media is. They're busy being propagandists for this administration - come hell or highwater. In May of this year, the New York Times finally admitted that it "spiked" (buried) a story that would have connected ACORN's criminal activities to Barack Obama's presidential run. Story here. It was pulled the day before the election in order to protect Obama. Times Editor Hoyt said as much.

The Times didn't have a problem running negative stories about John McCain though, right up to election day. From the News Buster's article again:

Of course, we can only wonder what the New York Times would have done if it had gained information that John McCain's campaign had committed technical violations of campaign finance law.

The NYT did publish a blog item about the DNC's allegation that McCain's campaign had illegally procured a loan and the paper was only too willing to imply in a Feb. 21, 2008 story that McCain was having a romantic affair with a female lobbyist three decades his junior. The charge, which was based on information provided by anonymous sources supposedly working for McCain, ultimately proved groundless and the newspaper retracted it a year later. The NYT disingenuously claims that it had never intended to suggest that the lobbyist "had engaged in a romantic affair with Senator McCain."

Michelle Malkin wrote this article back in June of 2008.

If you don’t know what ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) is all about, you better bone up. This left-wing group takes in 40 percent of its revenues from American taxpayers — you and me — and has leveraged nearly four decades of government subsidies to fund affiliates that promote the welfare state and undermine capitalism and self-reliance, some of which have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and encouraging voter fraud. A new whistleblower report from the Consumer Rights League documents how Chicago-based ACORN has commingled public tax dollars with political projects.

Obama doesn't care about the rule of law, all he cares about is getting "back" at Whitey. Those 20 years sitting at the knee of Jeremiah Wright taught this confused young man that America is the problem, white people are the problem, that greedy capitalism is the problem. Now it is "his time" to swing the pendulum of power. And "by any means necessary" they're doing it .... if it takes some voter fraud, some dirty PAC money, intimidation and "transforming" the country then Obama will do it!

I love that South park episode where the contestant on Wheel of Fortune gets the clue "people that annoy you."

The letters he pulls up on the board
are N_GGERS.

It turns out the 'correct' answer has an A as the vowel.

Hollywood gets it wrong once again.

Wasted money to ACORN, wasted money to Halliburton. Six of one, half dozen of the other.

Cozzi is done, 6 years in prison. Remember this while you are working, you could be next. Perhaps they will go after the guys who did the Abbate case report? Civil rights violations are a cover all for use against the police.

I like ya Rue-y, but I wouldn't come onto your boulevard, heck, I'm the next block over. Maybe two.
