21 December 2008

I know that I come off as a fairly pessimistic person on paper but, in day to day life I'm an optimist. Oriana Fallaci famously said,"With our progress we have destroyed our only weapon against tedium: that rare weakness we call imagination."

It is difficult to be optimistic when I see us losing our Liberty every day. Every day the Democrats do something, or say something that etches just a wee bit from our Constitutional rights. My first FTO told me something that sticks with me to this day. Driving around the 'beautiful' 6th district on my first night out of the academy, he said - "I'll give you my usual spiel about this job. If you think you're going out there to fight crime, save lives and make a difference, forget it! Your only job is to document the fall of western civilization."

And how far we have fallen is unmistakably apparent. Doomsday is coming.

My optimism for the future of our beloved country diminished as I saw 67 million of my fellow citizens vote for a man who wouldn't have even been considered for political office 10 years ago. I see this man now stand there and proclaim that he's going to change things. His lackeys are busy dreaming up new ways to dig deeper and deeper into our pockets. They're coming up with gimmicks and tricks in order to make you think you have a choice: you do not.

Many of you don't understand the full impact of the massive new federal government that is lurking just over the horizon. Certainly the uninformed Drones who voted for BHO don't understand - and likely never will.

Like the barbarian hordes who crossed the Rhine and sacked Rome, the Left in this country have been hard at work over the last 3 decades eroding the internal structures that have kept us that Shining Light on the Hill for over 200 years.

The new regime is gearing up and they want to push their policies through before you even have time to get your head around them. They're using the "climate change" hoax as a ruse to get more control over you and to limit your liberty. They've targeted smoke-stack industries for destruction. They want coal plants to close, and they want to run the Big 3 auto manufacturers. Our president-elect wants to "re-cast" the FDR "safety nets" but that won't do a damn thing except push our economy over the brink of collapse.

Sadly BHO doesn't understand much; and that certainly includes basic economics. He thinks that pumping money into the economy, through his ridiculous "trickle UP" economic model, will promote growth and employment. It absolutely will not do either. When BHO's hero FDR took office our unemployment was 17.4% - five years later after FDR had spent millions with the WPA and make-work programs, unemployment stood at 17.4%

Obama thinks that the constitution is just "a bunch of negative rights." He and his Marxist colleagues look at it as a hindrance to exploding the size of government. It was specifically designed to keep wannabe-tyrants like Obama in check.

Obama wants to do the same thing as LBJ and FDR: pump monies at groups in order to guarantee that they get hooked on government cheese so that they'll keep voting Democratic. He's already spreading the word that he has "shovel-ready" projects that are ready to go.

He just announced that he's going to hire 600,000 additional federal employees - to top off the already 2 million there. And what are these new employees going to do besides overwhelm an already burgeoning bureaucracy? They're going to come after you with their new tome of environmental regulations. BHO's policies are going to add $1 trillion to the Federal government. And don't forget that over the last 12 months, $8 trillion dollars has gone out the door via "stimulus packages" and bailout schemes. BHO and his cohorts are using the canard of "helping the People" in order to breakdown the firewalls within the constitution, while destroying the free market.

Obama and the hard Left don't like private property. They don't like the free market. They hate it because the free market is fluid and mutable. The Leftists create class struggles in order to justify circumventing the constitution. They want a centralized government that will make all your decisions for you. Our democracy is a threat to the Left precisely because there are no class struggles within a truly free market. There are only winners and losers.

How many socialist states failed over the last 75 years? How many communist regimes are back-water toilets, rife with corruption, mass graves, rape and savagery? And our current leadership now thinks that enacting these policies here will do what? Establish "economic justice"? What a farce...there is no such thing.

The problem is that we have a significant 5th Column in this country. These are people who see government as a power-grab. The bigger the government, the more they can establish their Utopian fantasies. They're preying on the people who have little understanding of history, and who have their hand out waiting for some government money. They've exploited folks who don't have the sense to see where this is all headed: directly into the maw of tyranny.

Some get it. George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, and Friedric Hayek. In fact Hayek was the first economist to put economics and liberty together as a model. In his "Road to Serfdom" he lays out the dangers of a centrally-planned economy. BHO wants a highly centralized economy.

We got the leader that we deserve: Decades of pandering to race-baiters - allowing Farrakhan and Sharpton to appear on "Nightline", and other news outlets, and pretending that their outlook and opinions had even a modicum of validity, convulsing with dread about appearing "politically correct" and "culturally diverse", for refusing to stand up and call these race hustlers on their preposterous conspiracy theories, for engaging in spasms of angst over "institutional racism" and then allowing the government to outlay trillions of dollars in welfare, for not standing up and denouncing affirmative action laws as merit less and wrong .... for all these and more you can thank our Liberal friends on the Left for their vacillation and spineless groveling to special interest groups. Tyranny by the minority. Death by a thousand cuts.

Now we're seeing Obama planting all his hard Left lackeys in positions of power. And you can be assured that we will face an economic crisis towards the end of March, beginning of April. Gerald Celente of the Trends Institute has made a number of predictions that have turned out correct. He says that by the end of 2009, we will see a collapse of the banking industry. I hope he's wrong but it appears that based on the plans espoused by Obama, and the fiscal irresponsibility of our current leadership, we will see, firsthand, the effects of socialism within a quasi-free market economy.

Saul Alinsky must be laughing his ass off right now in his little corner of Hell. He'd be very proud of his pupil Barry.

Violence in Mexico

Another American was kidnapped in Mexico - this time a cuban-born American security specialist.

The death toll continues to rise south of the border, with Mexican authorities reporting that the number of people killed in drug-cartel related violence more than doubled in the first 11 months of this year – 2,413 people died between Jan. 1 to Nov. 30, 2007, and 5,376 homicides were reported during the same period in 2008.

“It’s about 114 to 115 percent (increase),” Ricardo Alday, spokesperson for the Mexican Embassy in Washington, D.C., told CNSNews.com.

Back in February of this year, Newsweek quoted an FBI source as saying that kidnapping of Americans was averaging 6 per month. According to the Newsweek article, most of the kidnappings are preselected - they're not random. In some circumstances, Americans along the border are being abducted and taken to Mexico.

Here is the State Department's warning on travel to Mexico.

I've been to Mexico about 10 times...I always travel within the tourist spots and stay aware of my surroundings. You'll be safest if you just pretend you're walking down 83rd and Houston in the beautiful 4th district.

More and More getting away with murder

A disturbing new trend in crime fighting - the clearance rate for murders is down from a high of 91% in 1963, to 61% in 2007.

Part of the reason for the decline is that detectives have had more and more obstacles put in their way. Defendants within the last 10 years have sued saying that they were coerced in to confessing so interviews were required to be video-taped.

"Witnesses" to murders or aggravated batteries, who were in reality the possible offenders, were required to be charged within 48 hours of detention. The dicks used to be able to detain someone for 72 hours. The "72 hour" clock would start when the person was arrested. Now the clock starts when they're placed in the squad car and they have to be charged within 48 hours of being detained. Detectives lost valuable interrogation time when the courts stripped that away.

...Here's a slice from the AP article:

CHICAGO (AP) - Despite the rise of DNA fingerprinting and other "CSI"-style crime-fighting wizardry, more and more people in this country are getting away with murder. FBI figures reviewed by The Associated Press show that the homicide clearance rate, as detectives call it, dropped from 91 percent in 1963 - the first year records were kept in the manner they are now - to 61 percent in 2007.

Law enforcement officials say the chief reason is a rise in drug- and gang-related killings, which are often impersonal and anonymous, and thus harder to solve than slayings among family members or friends. As a result, police departments are carrying an ever-growing number of "cold-case" murders on their books.

The clearance rate is the number of homicides solved in a year, compared with the number of killings committed that year. The solved killings can include homicides committed in previous years.

The number of criminal homicides committed in the U.S. climbed from 4,566 in 1963 to 14,811 in 2007, according to the FBI. The clearance rate has been dropping pretty steadily over the past four decades, slipping under 80 percent in the early 1970s and below 70 percent in the late 1980s. In cities with populations over 1 million, the 2007 clearance rate was 59 percent, down from 89 percent in 1963.

Detectives say homicides generally become harder to solve as time goes by, as witnesses die and memories fade. Yet cold-case detectives say their units are often understaffed. And local police are getting less help for cold cases from Washington. Funding for the main federal program for such cases was cut 40 percent from 2005 to 2007.

And while we're on the subject, it turns out that blacks and hispanics account for the majority of criminals in New York city. Gee - whodathunk it?

I guess that nearly obliterates the cultural diversity argument because if such a great disparity exists in offenders, as we see them delineate along racial lines, then there is no "diversity" when it comes to crime: It exists clearly only on ONE side.

The Bureau of Justice stats support this. Based on current rates of first incarceration, an estimated 32% of black males will enter State or Federal prison during their lifetime, compared to 17% of Hispanic males and 5.9% of white males.

From the Daily News:

Black New Yorkers are 13 times more likely to be murdered - or arrested for murder - than whites, an NYPD crime analysis shows.

Blacks and Hispanics dominated tallies of both suspects and victims, according to an NYPD racial breakdown of crimes requested by the Daily News.

The News asked for the stats after civil rights groups slammed the NYPD because 90% of people shot at by cops in 2007 - the last year for which data was available - were black or Hispanic. Police brass said that was because minorities accounted for the majority of crime suspects and victims.

Of the 244 murders between Jan. 1 and June 30 this year, 64.8% of the victims were black, records showed. Hispanics accounted for 23.4% of the victims, whites 7.4% and Asians 4.5%.

Using NYPD stats, the homicide rate per 1 million in population was 81.1 for blacks and 6.3 for whites.Among murder arrests, blacks accounted for 64.9%, Hispanics 27.2%, whites 7.3% and Asians less than 1%.

The racial tallies bear little resemblance to the ethnic makeup of New York City: 34.8% white, 27.6% Hispanic and 23.7% black, 2006 Census data shows.

And what about all the criminals who do crime and after crime? What are the recidivism rates for offenders? Here's a nice recap, again, from the the Bureau of Justice:

# Of the 272,111 persons released from prisons in 15 States in 1994, an estimated 67.5% were rearrested for a felony or serious misdemeanor within 3 years, 46.9% were reconvicted, and 25.4% resentenced to prison for a new crime.

# The 272,111 offenders discharged in 1994 accounted for nearly 4,877,000 arrest charges over their recorded careers.

# Within 3 years of release, 2.5% of released rapists were rearrested for another rape, and 1.2% of those who had served time for homicide were arrested for a new homicide.

# Sex offenders were less likely than non-sex offenders to be rearrested for any offense –– 43 percent of sex offenders versus 68 percent of non-sex offenders.

# Sex offenders were about four times more likely than non-sex offenders to be arrested for another sex crime after their discharge from prison –– 5.3 percent of sex offenders versus 1.3 percent of non-sex offenders.

And from recent events, it looks as if Michelle and Barack Obama are no different. Let's hope that by the end of January 2009, the inauguration is replaced by a resignation.

Have a great day.

Science strikes again

Happy Monday! Today from the world of science. The lab rats have found a new element to add to the periodic chart.

Lawrence Livermore Laboratories has discovered the heaviest element yet known to science. The new element, Governmentium (Gv), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Since Governmentium has no electrons, it is inert; however, it can be detected, because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Governmentium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Governmentium has a normal half-life of 2- 6 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places. In fact, Governmentium's mass will actually increase over time, since each reorganization will cause more morons to become neutrons, forming isodopes..

This characteristic of morons promotion leads some scientists to believe that Governmentium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Governmentium becomes Administratium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Governmentium, since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

Ars longa vita brevis

Murderer-Rapist Executed

One more reason to hate George Ryan ... he commuted the death sentences of all that detritus sitting on Illinois' death row - the victims and their families will never have proper justice.

South Carolina apparently has its house in order. They're still killing offenders who so richly deserve to die.

Joseph M.L. Gardner was pronounced dead at 6:15 p.m. Friday in the state's death chamber in Columbia. He did not make a final statement, but did mouth the words "Thank you. I'm OK," to a relative who witnessed his death.

Gardner was convicted in the 1992 kidnapping, rape and slaying of 25-year-old Melissa "Missi" McLauchlin.

Police said Gardner and his co-defendants decided to kill a white woman as retribution for slavery. But the victim's family and Gardner's attorneys say they don't think the killing had anything to do with racial revenge.

Gardner is the 40th person executed in South Carolina since the death penalty was reinstated in 1976.

The other 4 creeps who did this to Melissa Mclauchlin should be dead but won't be - they're all doing time and may make parole one day.

God rest her spirit.

A few good expenses

If you know anyone in sales, please send this to them. Very funny...

EPA proposal stinks

More indications that Green is the new Red .... this time coming straight outta cheese-land, "dont-cha-know"

Under a proposed new law, the U-S Environmental Protection Agency will tax belching and gaseous cows and hogs for polluting the air.

It's one of several proposals put forward by the agency after the U-S Supreme Court ruled in 2007 that greenhouse gases emitted by belching and flatulence amounts to air pollution.

It would require farms or ranches with more than 25 dairy cows, 50 beef cattle or 200 hogs to pay an annual fee of about 175 dollars for each dairy cow, 87-dollars-and-50 cents per head for beef cattle and 20 dollars for each hog.

On the surface it seems to be a non-issue. You may be asking yourself, "So what! A few dairy farmers have to pay a bit more to the state."

The problem is that the Greens are spewing this non-sense - claiming that CO2 is a greenhouse gas. So the air you exhale could be categorized as a pollutant. This is utter crap because plant life absorbs CO2 and exudes oxygen. Will the next Green Initiative be to say that oxygen is a danger? If it helps them get more and more control over YOU then, damn right they'll do it!

In their zealousness to condemn Americans as fat, greedy polluters; they forget that the rest of the world isn't on the same gameplan as them. Asia doesn't give a rats' ass about greenhouse emissions. Indonesia doesn't either. Neither does Rwanda.

So we're going to destroy our manufacturing and smoke-stack industries because a hand-ful of truly ignorant law makers (and one stupid President-elect) want them gone. Is that it? We're just going to give it away?

Using this logic they'll continue to go after every little thing you do, own and breath - all in the name of "the people" or "air quality" or human rights ... whatever. Team-Obama are going to use every dirty trick to insinuate Big Brother into your lives.

The original MLF

Happy Friday my dear readers.

I was at Bally's getting my heart rate up on the cardio machine, when this little gem popped up (forgive the pun.)

Give it to me, indeed. While I think Madonna is as phony as they come - with all her Cabala non-sense and adoption fiascos - she can still hop around in those 4 inch spiked heels like she was 20. God bless her.

Will someone tell Pharell that he sings like Tiny Tim?

Enjoy ... just a little something to start the weekend off right, er - left I guess.

Get ready for the "trickeration"

Those of you who have enjoyed working in predominantly black areas of the city will no doubt recognize the word I've used in the title of this post: trickeration.

Although not linguistically accurate, it is a blend of the noun trick, and the suffix -tion which translates as "the act of being tricked". Mike Tyson knows of what I speak. Back in '95 he claimed to be a victim of trickeration.

Well it is becoming more and more evident that Team-Obama and Tom Daschle are about to pull their own version of a trickeration on all of us vis-a-vis Team-Obama's sweeping health care initiatives.

Tony Blankley writes an outstanding piece over at Townhall, on this very issue - and, to use some Brit slang: It's bloody scary!

Blankley took the time, thank God someone did, to read Daschle's book Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.

As the Left loves to create a crisis in order to etch away our individual freedoms, and install their Big State power-grabs, they've created another pantomime horse under the auspice of a crisis in healthcare.

In Dashle's own words, he wants to set up a politburo type of "Health Care Committee" that will allocate (read: ration!) resources to you and me.

From the article:

He proposes setting up a board to establish standards for health care delivery in the United States that would be modeled on how the Federal Reserve Board and Securities and Exchange Commission oversee banks and corporations. Technically, it only would oversee the public health systems (Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Health Administration, etc.), which provide about 32 percent of health care nationwide.

On Page 179, he writes, "The Federal Health Board wouldn't be a regulatory agency, but its recommendations would have teeth because all federal health programs would have to abide by them." But here is the kicker: Although his board technically would have no say on the 68 percent of health care that is provided through the private sector, at the bottom of Page 179, Daschle modestly adds: "Congress could opt to go further with the Board's recommendations. It could, for example, link the tax exclusion for health insurance to insurance that complies with the Board's recommendation."

Those last 19 words would spell the end of independent private-sector health care in America. Obviously, no health insurance would be sold if it were denied the tax deduction. Thus, every policy, every standard decided by this board would be the law of the land for every drug company, every hospital, every doctor and every health insurance company.

Indeed, 20 pages later, in the section in which he identifies "losers" under his plan, Daschle is admirably candid. Among the explicit "losers, he includes: "Doctors and patients might resent any encroachment on their ability to choose certain treatments, even if they are expensive or ineffectual compared to alternatives. Some insurers might object to new rules that restrict their coverage decisions. And the health-care industry would have to reconsider its business plan (emphasis added)." That is to say, they can stay in business and deliver their services, but only as the government bureaucrats say they may. They no longer would be genuinely independent.

Dashle also suggests that Obama push through a vague legislative package on healthcare so that, basically, the people won't have any say-so in the matter. He says that Obama should do it quickly while his popularity is still intact. Then - and here's the kicker - Dashle suggests that a healthcare committee be appointed in order to create specific regulations for medical allocations.

The reason they're doing this is to minimize opposition to the program.

If this goes through, we're going to see extreme limits on what services and drugs you can get. Just look at what Dashle says about angioplasties - that in his opinion one third of them are unnecessary. Well who is he to say whether or not they are - is he a cardiologist? This is Big Government playing God. They're going to cry that people in their 80's and 90's should be denied care "because they're going to die anyway."

As I wrote in an earlier post, Nationalized Healthcare is NOT working in Europe, Britain and Canada. Cost cutting and rationing are the rule - not the exception. Drugs that could save your life, are being denied to cancer patients with the explanation that "there is a fixed amount of funds and we cannot cover everyone." Exactly!

US drug companies released 64 new cancer drugs last year - and only 44 made it to Europe. Why? Because European governments deemed the drugs too expensive.

I strongly suggest the you send an email or letter to your senator telling them to take this Nationalized Health care scam and stick it where the sun don't shine! The same with all these ridiculous bailouts. Enough already!
