Power to the People

If you're a McCain-Palin supporter, you must be getting depressed by the constant and withering fire of the Obama-MSM propaganda machine. You can't flip around on the cable tv without seeing Obama at some rally or fundraiser. Meanwhile, the pundits are all suddenly claiming that Palin is "inexperienced."

Where were these pundits 22 months ago when Obama was running? Where were these "hard hitting reporters" when Obama was being linked to Ayers, Rezko, Farrakhan, Wright, and the Annenburg board?

They weren't anywhere but in Obama's pocket. Sure there are a gutsy few who took off the gloves and went after Barack Hussein Obama, but they're the exception and not the rule.

For those of you who need a little pick me up, here is an excerpt from Laura Ingraham's insightful new book "Power To The People":

"It's nighttime in America.

Or at least it feels that way.

Frustration. Anger. Confusion. These emotions ambush us whenever we stop to consider how estranged we have become from politics and the culture. We are like strangers in a foreign land. We feel there is nowhere to turn for help, no safe harbor where our values are protected. We have few leaders willing to represent and fight for those values. We see our country veering so off course in so many areas that we feel powerless to turn it around. In can all seem overwhelming and demoralizing. Kind of like a Nancy Pelosi speech.

Whether you know if or not, many of the most important decisions in your life are being made for you. They are being made by out-of-touch politicians, agenda-driven educrats, haughty life-tenuted judges, and executives in a polluted entertainment industry - all of whom believe they know better than you. Responsibility and accountability are principles that they preach but do not practice. They have their agendas-and when little people get in the way : watch out! The are perpetrating a massive power grab. Watch your wallet. Hide your children. Lock up the livestock. They're coming for you.

How do we reclaim the power that is rightfully ours?

[For many on the Left, the 1960's battle] cry of "Power to the People" really meant power to the Marxists, socialists, antiwar activists, international bureaucracies, non-governmental organizations, and illegal alien umbrella groups. Power over the people who are too busy working and taking care of their families to join the protest culture.

The 1960's were a disaster. Radicals infiltrated our universities, legal professions, courts and government. We almost lost this country. The 60's counter-culture initiated the "free love" movement and fought to eliminate "The Establishment". As Laura points out, "40 years later they have become the Establishment." The American Left has used the term "empowerment" to define their agenda. "Black power", "Gay Power", "Woman Power", "Gray / Green / Rainbow Power"...etc. But for all their rhetoric about empowerment, what they really meant was that they were more than happy to help themselves to positions of power and influence.

In the meantime, they made the nation a slave to fringe groups, political correctness, expanding bureaucracies, and our own consumerism. They worked feverishly to move decision-making to Washington-taking power away from people and putting it in the hands of bureaucrats and politicians who want to spend our money, make our decisions, and tie us up with red tape.

Well it's time to take our power back! As they say, "When will the government stop interfering with our lives? When we make it stop."

Then go here and request to donate some time to the John McCain election team for Illinois.

Keep our troops and money at home! Never mind the other countries problems unless they affect us. (Then bomb the shit out of them) If we must occupy a country, strip it for all its worth.

Aw Rue, just when I think you’re about to turn the corner you bring something like this. Not that I would ever defend the Barockstar, but do you really mean to compare his record and associations with those of a bloodthirsty war criminal like McCain? Let’s try to be serious.

“Keep our troops and money at home!”

This would certainly hearten Iraqis and Afghanis who never asked our soldiers to “help” them in the first place.

“Never mind the other countries problems unless they affect us”

How magnanimous. By “affect” do you mean as in “attack” us? This hasn’t occurred to the US since the War of 1812 when the British burned Washington nearly to the ground (1814) forcing President Madison to flee to the countryside for his life. How then do you explain our serial aggressions against so many others since?

Oh, like the Nazis in Poland and Imperial Japan in Manchuria! Don’t you just love the company?
