Barack Obama's stupidity on display

Here's a nice short snippet of video shots of "The Anointed One" that shows that when he's not on a teleprompter, he's a gaffe-waffling-flip-flopping Machine!

This guy is hiding so much from us, it's frightening that he's gotten so close to the White House. It shows you just how complacent and corpulent the American Left has gotten when someone like this can get nominated.

Salon: "Sarah Palin is Ruining My Life!"

Salon.com's Cary Tennis responds to a letter from a Democratic woman attorney who laments that she is consumed with hatred for Sarah Palin.

Dear Cary,

I am a Democrat, a mother of three, and a full-time attorney. During the primaries, I was torn between Hillary Clinton, who I believed had the experience to be president (and really, really, really wanted it), and Barack Obama, who I believed was not only highly capable (albeit less experienced), but also the more sincere of the two and who inspired me on an emotional level that Clinton did not. In addition, as my kind friends pointed out to me, Clinton was carrying a lot of baggage in terms of her own scandals, not to mention Bill's little problems. So, in the end, I did what my heart really wanted me to do all along and voted for Obama. And then I totally checked out of the election. I've always disliked the pettiness of politics, the lies, the mudslinging, the arguments over meaningless minutiae, the parsing of personalities ad infinitum, etc. My perspective was, short of Obama being caught on video strangling his children with his own two hands, he had my vote, and thus I had no need to pay attention to all the nonsense that would occur in both campaigns prior to the election.

And then came Sarah. My reaction to her, and the way the Republican Party threw her in our faces, and the pandering and hypocrisy that was behind their decision to do so, was immediate, visceral, and indeed, vicious. I have crossed every line I believed should never be crossed in public discourse -- I have criticized not only her policies and her record, but her hair, her personal style, her accent, her abilities as a mother, etc. I've also begun to suffer personally and professionally. I bore my friends with my constant tirades against her, and am constantly distracted from my work by my need to continually update myself on the latest criticism, and indeed, ridicule, of her. In my hatred for her, I have begun to hate myself.

I don't want this woman ruining my life before she even gets a chance to ruin our country. How do I stop? Is there a self-help group for this?

A "Hater"*

*As Sarah Palin calls all those who disagree with her (New York Times, Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008)

As Cary herself. an Uber-Liberal, inadvertently points out, this is nothing more than a bunch of emotionally immature adults "rebelling" against a strong "mother figure". Palin represents an authoritarian archetype, and the mewling groups of emotionally stunted Liberals have no other recourse except to have a "temper tantrum".

Makes perfect sense to me. How else can one categorize the Left in this country. They cast aspersions like manure at an Oklahoma cow-chip contest. They have call Dick Cheney "Darth Vader", Bush is an incompetent imbecile, Republicans are greedy evil hacks who are toadies to Big Oil....etc. There is a reason that it's called "Bush Derangement Syndrome" - it's the same mechanism that is driving the hatred of Sarah Palin. It's the same thing that sank Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, and every other conservative who dares to show his or her face in public.

Cary Tennis says that Sarah Palin operates outside of the realm of reason. If you read the piece you'll see that for all the high-brow mention of psychological archetypes, Tennis is clearly projecting her own weaknesses (and those of her Liberal cohorts). Liberals don't have to debate, they don't have to have facts on their side: THEY EMOTE. They dismiss reason as an ivory tower and, instead focus on feelings.

For Tennis to portray Palin as an illogical sycophant of McCain does Palin, and all women a disservice.

The truth is that having Palin in the race scares the crap out of the Democrat party. And for good reason: She's a capable, articulate and strong woman - with the core beliefs of a solid conservative.

Fired for 'vascular restraint'?

A Tennessee officer was fired for using a choke hold on a man suspected of secreting drugs in his mouth during a traffic stop.

The site has the dash-cam video at the traffic stop.

Of course the Liberal judge threw all the charges out against the man, who indeed did possess marijuana and did resist the officers.

More indications that our society is falling apart right before our very eyes. Always vote "NO" on every judicial election form.

Officer Survival

UPDATE: Officer Nathaniel Taylor, Jr has passed. God rest your soul.

With one of our brothers near death from a line-of-duty shooting, my prayers go out to him, his friends and family.

These situations always evoke "would have, could have" scenarios. Things like "I should have" or "I could have..." run through my mind. It's easy for each one of us to imagine that the fallen officer was us. It could have been anyone of us, that is the reality.

Perhaps Officer Taylor would be alive today if he'd been wearing a kevlar helmet. I know that they can stop just about every pistol round. Maybe our special teams can get them and a ballistic shield? It'd probably save a few lives. Just a thought.

With that in mind, I found this Training Creed over at Police One. Go there to read the text of the first bullet point. It looks like you have to sign up for training to get the rest of them explained.

The Ten Commandments of Officer Survival
#1 - Thou Shalt Not Not Train.

#2 - Thou Shalt Not Defeat Thyself.

#3 - Thou Shalt Not Give Up.

#4 - Thou Shalt Not Fear Fear.

#5 - Thou Shalt Not Telegraph Your Intentions.

#6 - Thou Shalt Not Lose The Street Fight.

#7 - Thou Shalt Not Invite Disaster.

#8 - Thou Shalt Not Kill Unless It Is Absolutely necessary.

#9 - Thou Shalt Not Settle For Mediocrity.

#10 - Thou Shalt Not Presume Compliance.

Triumph the Insult dog vs. David Blaine

With all the swirling financial news and the impending indictment of Barack Hussein Obama, I'm getting a headache from all of Obama's flip-flops. Besides, Rezko is singing like a bird right now to the Feds. Obama's career is about to go into a tail-spin (I pray!)

So let's take a break and watch Triumph the Insult Dog in action! (ps. F Obama!)

Officer ambushed - survives

I saw this story posted on one of the CPD bulletin boards the other day, and I thought it'd be great to share with my fellow officers.

We all get complacent on the job. You go to 100 disturbance calls a year, and 90% of them are uneventful.

But complacency can kill. We all saw how quickly things went bad for Officer Richard Francis (and I'm not saying he was complacent - just pointing out how the unexpected can strike at any time.)

From Police One:

He admits he had become somewhat complacent when it came to breaking and entering calls. The Lansing, Michigan, Police Department responds to dozens of such calls every week and most of them turn out to be nothing more serious than an estranged boyfriend returning to the apartment for his belongings. Many times, a parent gets a child to call in claiming the "intruder" has a gun so police will arrive faster.

The call that came in from a calm-sounding little girl about 10:30 p.m. on April 29, 2004, sounded like all the rest, and there was no mention of a gun. So, as Officer Robert Vargas walked from his patrol car to the apartment building, he wasn't expecting the worst.

He couldn't have known he was being watched by gunmen who were waiting for him inside.

As he had done on so many B&E calls before, he checked the door, the door facing and the windows for sign of forced entry. There was none. Then, he heard a woman screaming, as if she were screaming for her life.

Officer Vargas, a nine-year veteran of the department, pushed the door open and saw a woman laying face down in the floor, her hands bound behind her back, only partially clothed. A man wearing a mask, which revealed part of his face, stood in the kitchen and stared at the officer. Holding nothing in his hands, the man began walking slowly and quietly into the living room, appearing to make his way toward another door. Officer Vargas followed him for a couple of steps and stopped.

"Something just didn't feel right," he said. "He never said a word while I was talking to him, and kept walking away from me. So, I decided to leave and wait for backup."

When Officer Vargas turned to his left to make his way back to the front door, there was a gun pointed at his face from behind a half-wall on the staircase. The gunman wore a mask. Officer Vargas bent down to his left to get his face away from the gun, and the man lunged toward him and fired one shot to his left chest.

"I crawled as fast as I could to the front door that I left open. Then, I heard a second shot," he said.

The second bullet from the 9 mm gun grazed his right pinky finger before coming to rest in his left arm and shattering the ulna. Officer Vargas said he saw his forearm "explode."

Story continues here.

Safety begins with your equipment: keep your weapon clean and oiled. Make sure your vest is up to date, check your holster and make sure it secures your weapon properly. How old is your pepper spray?

Keep it simple, brothers and sisters. I'm counting on each and everyone of you to go home safely to your loved ones tonight.

Pastor, correctly, calls Obama's Mama "white trash"

Pastor David Manning has a great new video piece posted which calls out the media for attacking Sarah Palin and her daughter Bristol.

It's a "gotta watch"

Hands down, the best 8 minutes and 23 seconds I've spent since my honeymoon!

And just one more thing for you to think about, if you're an Obama supporter: Right now because of Barack Hussein Obama's radical associations, he couldn't get an FBI clearance. Is this the type of person we want in the White House?

Hell no!

Whoopi: Too stupid to be seen in public

The dullest, and dumbest celebrity out there has to be Whoopi Goldberg. Yesterday she asked John McCain, "Should I Be Worried About Being a Slave Again?"

What a contemptible moron she is.

Her question was prompted by McCain's comment that he wants the judiciary to interpret the constitution as it was originally intended. Goldberg implied that if we stick to the US Constitution, we'll have slaves again.

Apparently the fact that Goldberg doesn't know anything about the constitution, US History, judicial law and the amendments to the constitution won't keep her from commenting and criticizing people over it.

Her retarded and offensive comments won't amount to much, though. Back in 2004 John "War hero" Kerry thought he was a shoe-in. He had the Hollywood vote locked: Michael Moore, Whoopi Goldberg, Ben Affleck, Martin Sheen, Chevy Chase, Barbra Streisand, and Sean Penn were among those endorsing J.F.Kerry. But in the end, those high-flying endorsements didn’t matter at all.

What can you do? You can contact ABC Tv and let them know that Whoopi's commentary is enflammatory and ignorant, and that you won't support the show or those companies and products that advertise on The View.

You can email ABC here.

A brief perusal of The View's website showed that the following companies advertise with them (at least using banner ads)

The Hartford Co.
Hunter Fan Co.

A Big Step forward For Women

The Left has a fundamental propensity to unhinge; that is to become irate, offended, hypersensitive and apoplectic.

Since the Democrats are getting their asses handed to them in the most recent polls, they're reaching deep into their Bag of Dirty Tricks to get traction against Governor Sarah Palin.

The day after Palin was nominated, Obama thugs were dispatched to Alaska to try to dig up dirt on the former Governor. There are approximately 30 attorneys and Obama activists on the ground right now rooting around and attempting to get some leverage on Mrs. Palin.

Since they can't find anything of substance, they've set up an anonymous tip-line to try to get information on her or her family.

{As an aside: When have Republicans ever targeted the family members of their Democratic rivals? By my count, never. But right away Obama and his hack-lackeys went after Palin's kids. It's telling as to how far this fool will go to get power.}

McCain/Palin critics, of course, are either inaccurate or downright false. One of the attacks claims that Palin "banned certain books" while Mayor of Wasilla. USAToday has debunked the accusation, quite nicely I might add.

Some women are going after the Palin choice by saying it is merely a dog & pony show intended to attract women voters. Women against Palin blog was started by two NY Liberal yentas who don't like the fact that Palin is a constitutional originalist, is pro-life, she is a proven corruption fighter, and that she's a Global Warming Denier.

What these two bloggers are afraid of is that their narrow world-view is under attack. They're afraid that their little group won't be getting government funding under a conservative administration. They're afraid that Roe vs. Wade - the most egregious offal ever produced by a Supreme Court - may be overturned. While chicks like these wallow in self-pity and whine "poor us" they salivate about getting their hooks into some "evil republican".

If these types were true feminists, they'd be applauding such a strong archetype of woman-hood. Sadly all they're concerned about is their ideology. If Palin was a Liberal, they'd be doing back-flips about her. Just look at how vicious the Leftists were at the Clarence Thomas inquisition - it didn't matter that he was black, all they cared about was that he was conservative. If you're gay, straight, black, white, hispanic, female - it doesn't matter. The special interest groups will only attach themselves to someone who shares their beliefs.

That's why the Left is so loathsome. They use their facades to pander to their membership: be it black liberation, feminists, hispanic issues, or civil liberty type organizations. They only get behind and support someone based on their ideology - and it almost always has to be a Leftist that they'll promote.

So the fact that Palin is a woman carries no weight with arch-Feminists. The reason? Because they only want radicalized women within their ranks. A conservative, pro-life "breeder" just won't do. Oh no no no....

As a sidenote, I've retooled the "Democrat vs. Republican woman" pictures that were going around back in 2004.

As they say, a picture is worth 1,000 words.

Lynne Sweet, propagandist

NewsBusters points out the SunTimes 'journalist' Lynne Sweet is schilling for Barack Hussein Obama.

Gee I'm not shocked. The SlumTimes has been promoting corrupt politicians for decades: from Bobby Rush, Jesse Jackson and now Barack Hussein Obama. It's not secret.

Apparently Lynne Sweet is no different than Oprah. The "sister girl" won't have Sarah Palin on her show because the Oprah is in the pocket for Obama.

If you want a legit journalist, read John Kass. He's the real deal.

Caught in the act! Propagandists for Obama

As usual, the brilliant Michelle Malkin is all over this topic.

If you had any doubts that the Mainstream Media are propagandists for Barack Hussein Obama; worry no more.

It's a fact!

Check out pages 4 and 5 inside the magazine. It is a blatant smear. Michelle Obama's "fashion style" is highlighted, ad nauseum.

Palin? She's an evil, right-wing harpy who murders peaceful Caribou!

From Malkin's site:
Well, the six-page partisan hit job is every bit as smear-y and dishonest as the cover. Us weasel editor Bradley Jacobs claimed that Us deserved praise for being “one of the few magazines that actually did call to task those liberal bloggers for the news stories [the rumors about baby Trig being sister Bristol's baby] over the weekend.”

But the article makes zero mention of any of those liberal slime bloggers. Instead, here is how the magazine played up those rumors. Look at the big, red “Where’s the Bump?” headline. The caption reads: “In an earlier pregnancy (left), Palin had a visible bump. In a 2008 photo (right), used online to call Palin’s pregnangy into question, she is six months pregnant with her fifth baby.”

We all know that the Democrats, and their enthralled MSM 'journalists' have no standards....by definition.

When any conservative gets in trouble, what do we do? We hang them out for display and they resign. Jack Abramoff and Larry Craig resigned once allegations about them came to light.

What do the Democrats do? Fight, fight, fight! Look at Marion Barry; look at William Jeffers; or even Clinton. He was impeached and still had the chuzpah to wag his finger in our collective faces and pretend that he did nothing wrong....and most of the media went along with it.

Did conservatives ever go after Chelsea Clinton? Or Obama's children - NO! Families are typically off limits during campaigns (except for Michelle since she's actively stumping for Barack.)

And what do we get for trouble? No consideration. Within one day of Palin's announcement, journalists and Obama-thugs were on the ground in Alaska trying to dig up dirt on Palin and her family.

The fact that Team NObama is going to such great lengths to discredit Palin shows that they're scared, for the first time they're scared.

Ha! Ha! Ha!

$5 trillion more debt on your back

I posted about this on 13Jul2008. Michelle Malkin was already sensing something sinister about Fannie and Freddie back in 2004.

The bad news about this just gets worse and worse. The US government seized Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae yesterday.

This from Michelle's website:
Clothed in politically correct fashions (”Catch the dream,” beckons Freddie Mac’s program to boost minority home ownership; a “leader in diversity,” brags a Fannie Mae press release), these public-private hybrids are two dangerous pigs feeding at the federal trough. Congress created Fannie Mae (nickname for the Federal National Mortgage Association) in 1938 to bolster home ownership during the Depression. Three decades later, it was partially privatized, but retained a host of government benefits. In 1970, Congress spawned Freddie Mac (nickname for the Federal Home Mortgage Corp.) to provide a lending competitor to Fannie Mae. Both entities expand the pool of money for home purchasers by snapping up loans that lenders make to homebuyers, and then converting those loans into relatively safe mortgage-backed securities that are attractive to investors.

So, what’s wrong with this picture?

As Fred Smith, president of the Washington, D.C-based Competitive Enterprise Institute, has noted, these financial beasts are a textbook example of “profit-side capitalism and loss-side socialism.” When things go right for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, they keep the profits. But when things go wrong, taxpayers — not just private shareholders, managers, and employees — will be on the hook.

Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae each receive $2.25 billion lines of credit with the U.S. Treasury. These special pipelines give the institutions an implied federal guarantee available to no other private sector competitors in the mortgage market. That protection makes them immune to the costs normally associated with riskier and riskier behavior. Moreover, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are not required to pay state and local income taxes. In addition, the standard for how much money the government requires them to keep on hand in case homebuyers default on their mortgages is lower for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae than for fully private banks and thrifts. The two corporations receive an estimated $10 billion a year in hidden taxpayer subsidies.

Although these GSE's have no expressed guarantee - there is an "implicit" one. And now that they're adding the $5 trillion to our balance sheet, you're damn right it is guaranteed by you and me.

Who would do this to us? Who would by-pass the voting booth and decide, arbitrarily, to drag us into some financial morass?

Who chairs the Housing Committee? None other than Barney Frank (D-Mass). Who pushed Freddie and Fannie to be "backed" by government (ie. YOUR) financial securities?

The Democrats, of course.

The House passed the Mortgage Bailout bill back in July - thanks to 5th Column Commanders Pelosia, Frank, Rangel and Maxine Waters.

So now billions are going to be poured into these failing entities. They're throwing good money after bad money.

Chicago Olympics bid 2016

Here's my submission for the official Chicago Olympics bid for 2016.

Daley is hell-bent on getting the 2016 games here, no matter what it takes. He's borrowing money left and right, rigging deals, reducing city services, putting the screws to Chicago citizens to pay more and more - while the people get less and less.

Maybe Daley will follow through on the trend and just fire every cop with 20 years or more or service. That'd be right up Mayor Shortshank's alley.

Well I hope the Olympic Committee is paying attention to Chicago's ever-rising violent crime rate. Maybe they'll get the hint and select a more deserving city.

Bush's Liberal legacy

Some of you - "leftisthebest" and ColdType - think that I'm a unquestioning supporter of George W. Bush. The unmentioned label would be "BushBot."

I am not because, in truth, Bush's policies over the last 8 years have been unhesitatingly Liberal in execution. And I do mean L-i-b-e-r-a-l !!!

Under Bush total federal government spending rose 68% - that is double what Clinton did. Defense and security spending went from 22% of GNP in 2001 to 29% under Bush. And some economists estimate that the total cost of the war in Iraq may total 1 trillion when it's all said and done.

From McCleans Canada
...[Under Bush] spending bills were passed on everything from farm subsidies to health (up 44 per cent) and education (up 47 per cent).

After all, Bush had run as a "compassionate conservative"; he introduced the largest new entitlement since the Great Society programs of the 1960s: a prescription drug benefit for seniors that will add a US$1.2-trillion liability over 10 years.

As a proportion of the economy, total government spending has increased over Bush's tenure, from 18.4 per cent of GDP in 2000 to 20.3 per cent of GDP in 2006, according to the Tax Policy Institute run by the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution. "Bush was the first Republican presidential candidate since Eisenhower who ran without calling for the abolishing of a single government program," says Michael Tanner, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, a libertarian think tank, and author of Leviathan on the Right: How Big-Government Conservatism Brought Down the Republican Revolution..

Remember "No Child Left Behind?" Back in 2004 it was soaking us for $41 billion. Did test scores go up as a result of all this additional money? Uh, no.

Remember AID to Africa? Another Bush initiative where he tripled the amount of money being send to Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and Uganda. It is up to $4 billion per year.

From theUK paper The Independent:
When President Bush came to power in 2001, the US spent $1.4bn a year on humanitarian and development aid in Africa. By 2006, the figure had quadrupled to $5.6bn a year. And it is likely to get bigger. The centrepiece of Mr Bush's aid to Africa is the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (Pepfar), a five-year, $15bn Aids prevention and treatment programme launched in 2003. His most recent budget proposes doubling the funding to $30bn over the next five years.

And you wonder why I'm not happy? I'm a conservative; that means that I want less government. The hand that governs least, governs best. That is why Bush is not a conservative because he's been violating the tenets of conservatism since Day One.

Bush hands out US citizenship like soup at a homeless shelter. He won't secure the border, and he won't take enforcement action against employers who hire illegals. He won't even support the idea that we should confirm the citizenship of voters.

So it won't make me too sad to see a confused self-proclaimed "conservative" leave the Oval Office. At least he won't steal anything or have sex with an intern before he leaves.

He'll leave all that to the criminal segment of the Illegal Alien population.

Obama to pursue criminal charges against Bush

The Democrats never cease to amaze....

Joe Biden stated publicly that Barack Hussein Obama, if elected president, will pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration.

Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said earlier this week that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

Biden's comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

When asked during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, whether he would "pursue the violations that have been made against our Constitution by the present administration", Biden answered in the affirmative.

"We will not be stopped from pursuing any criminal offence that's occurred," he continued, going on to praise congressional committees for the deliberate pace of their inquiries into alleged Bush administration misdeeds.

Members of Congress are "doing the right thing, they're not making false accusations about anything … they're collecting data, subpoenaing records, they're building a file", Biden said.

This is typical of Liberal Democrats. Is this what the country needs? More Stalinist show-trials?

Give me a fucking break. The only light at the end of the tunnel is that Biden/Obama continue to shoot themselves in the foot. As of this posting, Rasmussen is showing McCain and Obama almost dead tied. 8 weeks to go.

Here's my entry for a new LogObama:

Obama in 1995: "That's how white folks will do you."

More nuggets of racial bigotry from the Anointed One.

The RiehlWorld blogger dug down and put together the proof that Barack Hussein Obama bought into and acknowledged the Black Liberation Theology of Jeremiah Wright.

"That's just how white folks will do you," Obama writes. "It wasn't merely the cruelty involved; I was learning that black people could be mean and then some. It was a particular brand of arrogance, an obtuseness in otherwise sane people that brought forth our bitter laughter. It was as if whites didn't know they were being cruel in the first place. Or at least thought you deserving of their scorn."

The original Chicago Reader article is here.

Of course this story will be buried in the mainstream media. Nothing negative about the Anointed One must get through the Lib PR machine.

Palin delivers knock-out at RNC

Sarah Palin was on fire tonight addressing the Republican National Convention.

The best line: "You know what the only difference is between a hockey-mom and a pit bull?.............Lipstick."

Here's Palin with the troops in Kuwait back in 2007.

Palin has done more in her life than Obama and Biden combined.

The LibTards are, of course, stooping to all-time-lows in order to score political points with the unwashed, NYTimes-reading masses. Sweetness & Light has a very concise page which lists every Liberal smear aimed at Palin. They're even demanding that a paternity test be given to Palin's son Trig; who was born in April with Downs Syndrome. Some of the DailyKOS crowd seem to think that Palin's daughter had the baby and the Palins are just covering up the facts.

Are you a Liberal?

To paraphrase Clemenceau's quip, "If you're not a liberal when you're 20, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative when you're 40, you have no head."

With 60% of Americans claiming to be conservative, I've often wondered why Liberal policies seem to swing through our legislative doors so easily.

Dennis Prager put together this list of questions. Each of these questions is a plank in the Liberal philosophical platform. The questions are designed simply to clarify whether or not you agree with the ideas put forth.

My hope, and secret intuition, is that most of you would answer 'nay' to most of these. If you indeed oppose most of these, then you should be voting for the conservative candidates because they share your values.

1. Standards for admissions to universities, fire departments, etc. should be lowered for people of color.

2. Bilingual education for children of immigrants, rather than immersion in English, is good for them and for America.

3. Murderers should never be put to death.

4. During the Cold War, America should have adopted a nuclear arms freeze.

5. Colleges should not allow ROTC programs.

6. It was wrong to wage war against Saddam Hussein in the Gulf War.

7. Poor parents should not be allowed to have vouchers to send their children to private schools.

8. It is good that trial lawyers and teachers unions are the two biggest contributors to the Democratic Party.

9. Marriage should be redefined from male-female to any two people.

10. A married couple should not have more of a right to adopt a child than two men or two women.

11. The Boy Scouts should not be allowed to use parks or any other public places and should be prohibited from using churches and synagogues for their meetings.

12. The present high tax rates are good.

13. Speech codes on college campuses are good and American values are bad.

14. The Israelis and Palestinians are morally equivalent.

15. The United Nations is a moral force for good in the world, and therefore America should be subservient to it and such international institutions as a world court.

16. It is good that colleges have dropped hundreds of men's sports teams in order to meet gender-based quotas.

No abortions can be labeled immoral.

17. Restaurants should be prohibited by law from allowing customers to choose between a smoking and a non-smoking section.

18. High schools should make condoms available to students and teach them how to use them.

19. Racial profiling for terrorists is wrong -- a white American grandmother should as likely be searched as a Saudi young male.

20. Racism and poverty -- not a lack of fathers and a crisis of values -- are the primary causes of violent crime in the inner city.

21. It is wrong and unconstitutional for students to be told, "God bless you" at their graduation.

22. No culture is morally superior to any other.

The problem, and stop me if you've heard this before, is that the word conservative is now a dirty word. The white-washing campaign against conservatives has been on-going for the last 60 years. The reason for this is not based in fact; it is based on spin and innuendo. The Left has spun conservatives as 'fascists' when in fact conservatives have NOTHING to do with fascism. The Left are the ones who borrow liberally from the fascist playbook. "Progressives" are the ones who were always pushing us into wars. They are the ones who made US citizens utter "loyalty oaths." They are the ones who rolled out the New Deal, and the following entitlement programs which, in effect, dismantled the family unit and has resulted in urban decay. "Progressives" also instituted the Poll Tax, so that prospective voters had to pay to vote. Liberals and Radicals want to expand the state so that the government can take the place of church, God and Father.

Conservatives want less government, less taxes, less intrusions into our personal lives, more adherence to the original intent of the constitution, less judicial activism and more liberty. We're the ones who respect babies and assume life begins at conception. We take the side of humans over spotted owls. We respect the intelligence and drive of the typical US citizen. We want everyone to succeed, and feel that this is the best country in the history of the world. We are the ones who thrive on principles and respect the rule of law. We presuppose a spiritual intent to the founding of this country. "In God we trust" wasn't just a slogan stamped onto our currency. The founding fathers instilled a "mystique" into the Declaration of Independence. It was magic, and that magic still flows through this country - and through the conservatives.

Judge rules LAPD officers disclose financial assets

(H/T: Connie)

LAPD officers who work in specialized units (TAC, gangs, VICE, Special Ops) are now required to submit reports detailing the financial position of they and their immediate families.

Story here.

Ignoring the police union and the District Attorney, U.S. District Judge Gary A. Feess decided that having officers disclose personal financial information was important because "having a baseline of disclosure" helps in police corruption cases.

What a bunch of utter non-sense! This Liberal puke, no doubt a 'police hater', has impugned law enforcement by assuming police are guilty until proven innocent. He also misses the point that many officers in these units will just resign, rather than have their personal information in the hands of a hostile, anti-police government agency.

From the article:
U.S. District Judge Gary A. Feess said his years of experience on the bench and as a former prosecutor have led him to conclude that "having a financial baseline is an essential starting point in an investigation into officers who appear to be living beyond their means or are otherwise engaged in corrupt conduct."

He chided the Los Angeles Police Protective League for threatening that the hundreds of affected anti-gang and narcotics officers would seek transfers from their units if they were forced to submit to the disclosure requirements.

"It would be difficult . . . to commend the LAPPL for its commitment to the public interest," Feess wrote. He said it "would be inequitable to reward them for their conduct" by granting their request for a temporary restraining order.

Feess also went out of his way to criticize Cooley, who testified at City Council hearings on behalf of the union earlier this year. The judge said that he was "unimpressed" with the district attorney's "counterintuitive view."

Cooley, in a statement released Friday, said he had read Feess' ruling and considered the "matter of great import and worthy of an appeal."

The judge's ruling was signed Thursday but obtained by union and city officials Friday. At issue is the final piece of a broad reform campaign that began after the Rampart corruption scandal and has kept the department under federal oversight since 2000.

Sgt. Wes McBride (LASD, retired) has a great response to this over at Officer.com.

He's right that this isn't a proactive policy: It is vindictive. Officers who are corrupt will just change their tactics and put the illicit monies elsewhere. Who are they kidding?!?!!

How soon before Daley and J-fraud P. Weis get together and do this in Chicago? Just a matter of time, I'm sure.

A Primer on National Healthcare

It must be because I live in a large urban area that lately, it seems, that every time I get into a discussion about issues facing US Citizens, the person(s) I'm talking to say that the root cause is that "the government doesn't spend enough money on it."

Maybe it is because these folks are just used to hearing their Democratic leadership throwing money at everything in sight. School attendance is down? We aren't spending enough on education. Crime is up? Spend more money on welfare and entitlement programs because, obviously, it is economic deprivation that causes crime. 1% of mortgage holders are defaulting on their loans. Quick! Pass a law that authorizes the government to take more of your money to bail out people who shouldn't have been given loans in the first place. Where will it end?

Now I'm hearing that we "need" nationalized healthcare. What a load of horse-cobblers. A huge Liberal friend of mine was constantly crowing about how wonderful Canadian healthcare was. He is a US citizen but travels frequently to Canada. He eventually moved to Canada and took a well paying job in the travel industry. Well one day he fell and fractured his arm (the area between the elbow and the shoulder). It was a compound fracture, meaning that the bone cracked and was poking through the skin. Those are the worst kind to get because of the risk of blood loss and infection. He goes to the hospital and it takes 4 hours just to get a pain killer. Around hour 6 he finally sees a doctor. The doctor says that the earliest they can get him in for an x-ray is 3 weeks. What can he do? He agrees and the doctor bandages him up and puts the arm in a quasi-cast.

The 3 weeks go by and it is agonizing for my friend. He can't sleep, his appetite is gone, he can't do much because the pain is excruciating. The x-rays show that it's broken in 4 spots. They schedule surgery for 1 month later! The surgery is a success but they have to put 4 pins in his arm, which protrude about 1/4 of an inch from the skin. The doctor says that he'll have to keep it this way for another 3 months and then come back to have them removed.

Long story short, it was almost a year before all the surgeries and visits were cleared. Meanwhile he had to suffer constant pain and deal with the horrid bureaucracies that make up Canadian health care. Needless to say, my friend is still a stubborn liberal but is convinced that nationalized health care is a nightmare.

In my experience, you can tell that people who are gung-ho stethoscope socialism have not examined the systems that they adore very closely.

The YouTube video above is not an isolated incident in Canada. Human Events fellow writes eloquently about some of the short-falls in the national healthcare paradigm. The most ringing indictment is this:"Wherever bureaucrats control medicine, the wise money says: “Don’t get sick.”

From Murdock's article:

* Breast cancer is fatal to 25 percent of its American victims. In Great Britain and New Zealand, both socialized-medicine havens, breast cancer kills 46 percent of women it strikes.

* Prostate cancer proves fatal to 19 percent of its American sufferers. In single-payer Canada, the National Center for Policy Analysis reports, this ailment kills 25 percent of such men and eradicates 57 percent of their British counterparts.

* After major surgery, a 2003 British study found, 2.5 percent of American patients died in hospital versus nearly 10 percent of similar Britons. Seriously ill US hospital patients die at one-seventh the pace of those in the U.K.

* “In usual circumstances, people over age 75 should not be accepted” for treatment of end-state renal failure, according to New Zealand’s official guidelines. Unfortunately, for older Kiwis, government controls kidney dialysis.

* According to a Populus survey, 98 percent of Britons want to reduce the time between diagnosis and treatment..

I've quoted from this article before but here are the low-lights on Canadian health care:

* More than 825,000 Canadian citizens are currently on waiting lists for surgery and other necessary treatments.

* According to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, Canada ranks 24th out of 28 countries in doctors per thousand people.

* Over the past decade, about 11 percent of physicians trained in Canadian medical schools have moved to the United States. That’s because doctors’ salaries in Canada are negotiated, set and paid for by provincial governments and held down by cost-conscious budget analysts. Today, in fact, the average Canadian doctor earns only 42 percent of what a doctor earns in the United States.

* Canada also limits access to common medical technologies. When compared with other OECD countries, Canada is 13th out of 24 in access to magnetic resonance imagings, 18th of 24 in access to computed tomography scanners, and seventh of 17 in access to mammograms.

* In Britain, more than 1 million sick citizens are currently waiting for hospital admission. Another 200,000 are waiting just to get on a waiting list. Each year, Britain’s National Health Service cancels around 100,000 operations.

The government can barely manage itself, let alone a nationalized Health care industry. The only thing we'll see if health care goes socialized is less quality, less doctors and higher death rates - that could have been prevented.
