Poll Shows You're Right
Rasmussen Reports that polling indicates what you've known all along: Americans want our Immigration Laws enforced. They want the fence built too but employer sanctions are strongly supported by the American people.
If a person wants to rent an apartment, should they be required to show documents proving they are legally in the U.S.?
Yes - 74%
No - 17%
Seventy-nine percent (79%) of American adults favor a proposal requiring employers to fire workers who falsify identity documents. A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 9% are opposed while 12% are not sure.
The survey was conducted as the Bush Administration announced a series of proposals designed to crack down on illegal immigration. One proposal would require companies to fire workers if proper documents are not provided by the employee within 90 days. While this proposal has upset some immigrant-rights leaders, most Americans would like to go even further74% believe that if a person wants to rent an apartment they should be required to provide documents proving they are in the country legally. Just 17% are opposed.
Earlier this year, the Senate finally bowed to public pressure and rejected a comprehensive immigration reform bill that was popular among the political elite but unpopular with just about everybody else. The latest Bush Administration push on enforcement may be another concession to public opinion. Had the increased border enforcement measures been initiated a few years earlier, there might have been more public support for the comprehensive reform package favored by the President.
Sixty-eight percent (68%) of Americans believe it is Very Important to improve border enforcement and reduce illegal immigration. That view is held by 80% of Republicans, 62% of Democrats, and 64% of those not affiliated with either major political party. Those figures are little changed from earlier in the year.
The government currently has little credibility in this arena. Just 12% of Americans believe the federal government is doing enough to secure the border and reduce illegal immigration. Seventy-one percent (71%) say it is not doing enough. Skepticism about the governments commitment to border enforcement led to the defeat of comprehensive immigration reform earlier this year. While voters looked saw a reduction in illegal immigration as the primary goal of reform, just 16% believed the Senate legislation would accomplish that goal. Forty-one percent (41%) actually thought the Senate bill would lead to an increase in illegal immigration.
During the debate in the Senate, advocates of the comprehensive reform proposal appeared primarily interested in the provisions in the bill that would legalize the status of illegal aliens already living in the United States. Just 28% of Americans consider that goal to be Very Important. Thirty-six percent (36%) of Democrats say its Very Important to legalize the status of undocumented workers. That view is shared by 22% of Republicans and 23% of those not affiliated with either major political party.
Como se dice, I need a Kleenex en espanol?
And the NYTimes chimes in with more and more immigration sob stories, designed to downplay the resoudingly negative impact that illegal immigration has, and is continuing to have on our society, our country and our economy.
They interviewed Ms. Gomez the mother of the alledged murderers and sexual predator illegal aliens who killed those 4 teens in Newark, NJ last week. Of course, she has "no idea" what's going on and has the attitude that she has no control over anything in her life. And, like all good ghetto Mamas, she's going to support her children with every fiber of her very being:
She said she was especially worried about her younger son. I have a child in the streets, she said. Hes just a boy. Hes not accustomed to being out on his own. She said it was hard to believe that her teenager could have been involved in a killing. If my little son made that mistake, I will have to fight for him, she said, but added, The bigger one is beyond help.
Where's the Goddamn Fence already?
Bush is pulling personnel off the border and doing his best to forestall its construction, so the US Border Patrol is asking its agents for voluteers in lending a hand on getting it erected:
The U.S. Border Patrol is asking for volunteers among its agents to help build fences on the U.S.-Mexico border, even as President Bush is withdrawing half the National Guard troops he sent there last year to build fences.
And all this on the One year anniversary of the illegal alien "activist" who has been holed up in a Westside Church who now says she will leave the church and participate in a march in Washington, D.C.
Will an ICE agent please go arrest her as soon as she steps outside the building? Thanks.
A spokesperson for the Illinois Minuteman Project was interviewed this morning on Fox News, in response to this illegal immigrant story. She made a great point - We wouldn't have a "budget crisis" in Illinois if we didn't spend billions every year supporting Illegals in Illinois.

The LibTards who write, direct, produce and star in most Hollywood productions want to directly influence the way you think. It is a subtle form of brainwashing. They know that if they show you images over and over again, you'll be desensitized and your thinking will shift ever so slightly to align with the movie, ad or tv show's message.
Take for example homosexuality. Back in the day men and women were ashamed to expose their lifestyle to the harsh light of day because they'd be criticized for it. It wasn't the criticism, per se, that inhibited them. It was in internalized sense of shame that also contributed to their reticence. It was called deviant behavior back them, for a very good reason. Being gay isn't a liberating event - it is an obstacle. Almost every gay person I know is secretly miserable. It is a lonely landscape that meets the average gay man or woman. Intrigue, pettiness, superficiality, sexual encounters devoid of meaning, voracious licentiousness and artifice are common in the gay community. To be honest, there is much of that in the straight community but my observations lead me to conclude that it is more rampant within the ranks of the gay community.
But you'd never know that by watching television. Shows like Will and Grace show the lifestyle to be cheeky and cool. Fleeting homosexual encounters are portrayed as fun and filled with abandon. Did they ever show an episode where Jack, the flamboyantly gay character, felt saddened by his unending stream of empty sexual enounters with multiple partners? Did the show's writers ever decide to show the downside to being a sexual addict?
No. That'd hardly be cricket, eh mate?
And not to be to harsh on the Gay Mafia and its insidious Pink Hand, let's look at the Myth of The Single Mother.
Since the 1950's television portrayed families as being composed a mother and a father. Nowadays they've got families being raised by older brothers (Party of Five). I remember that during one episode of Friends, Jennifer Aniston's character became pregnant and declared triumphantly that she was going to raise the baby on her own! The declaration was met by resounding applause from the live studio audience.
I could just see the effette Libbies in the audience fawning over themselves and breathlessly exclaiming, "Oh Morris, how wonderful! She's going to have the baby by herself!" The unspoken assumption being: You don't need a man in today's society. To coin Irina Dunn's famous utterance - "A woman needs a Man like a fish needs a bicycle." Oh what wit she possessed.
Or Candace Bergden's portrayal of Murphy Brown - that seasoned, single mother who was sharp, witty, professional, affluent and all together. She could seemingly do it all. She could put every man in his place, get the work done, be home making dinner for the 2 year old fertilized embryo and then have time to chat up her girlfriend until 2am.
Our Hollyweird fools act like being a single mom a choice. Well I'm not convinced.
Sadly we see that holding the single Mom lifestyle up as a sacred, almost honorable, pursuit has gotten society into an unexpected dilemma. As a case in point, City Journal published this piece to highlight the enormous negative impact that single parenthood has had on the city of Newark, NJ. Newark's murder rate remains one of the highest in the nation. (two arrests were made in the execution-style murders from last week.)
According to 2005 figures from the U.S. Census Bureau, only 32 percent of Newark children are being raised by their parents in a two-adult household. The rest are distributed among families led by grandparents, foster parents, and single parentsmostly mothers. An astonishing 60 percent of the citys kids are growing up without fathers. It isnt that traditional families are breaking up; they arent even getting started. The city has one of the highest out-of-wedlock birthrates in the country, with about 65 percent of its children born to unmarried women. And 70 percent of those births are to women who are already poor, meaning that their kids are born directly into poverty.
The economic consequences of these numbers are unsettling, since single parenthood is a road to lasting poverty in America today. In Newark, single parents head 83 percent of all families living below the poverty line. If you are a child born into a single-parent family in Newark, your chances of winding up in poverty are better than one in five, but if you are born into a two-parent family, those chances drop to just one in twelve.
And the social consequences are even more disturbing. Research conducted in the 1990s found that a child born out of wedlock was three times more likely to drop out of school than the average child, and far more likely to wind up on welfare as an adult. Studies have also found that about 70 percent of the long-term prisoners in our jails, those who have committed the most violent crimes, grew up without fathers.
The police see day in and day out the results of this ridiculous coddling that the single parent "community" has gotten. Every time we get to interview an offender or talk to a woman whose kid is acting up, the officer's first question is "Where is the boy's father". 90% of the time Dad is out of the picture.
This is why I cannot stand Liberalism as a societal policy. It is not founded in stability. It is based almost entirely on feelings. It is an empty moonscape of loose morals, anything goes behavior and non-judgementalism. You can do anything you want and you're not criticized for it. You can even marry a dolphin and no one questions your sanity.
So we'll continue to talk around the topic and not discuss the heart of the matter when it comes to crime - single parents and uninvolved fathers.
There are days in which I wake up and wonder what kind of crazy, warped rabbit hole have we fallen into. It is something out of Alice in Wonderland.

Walking does more than driving to cause global warming, a leading environmentalist has calculated.
Food production is now so energy-intensive that more carbon is emitted providing a person with enough calories to walk to the shops than a car would emit over the same distance. The climate could benefit if people avoided exercise, ate less and became couch potatoes. Provided, of course, they remembered to switch off the TV rather than leaving it on standby.
The sums were done by Chris Goodall, campaigning author of How to Live a Low-Carbon Life, based on the greenhouse gases created by intensive beef production. Driving a typical UK car for 3 miles [4.8km] adds about 0.9 kg [2lb] of CO2 to the atmosphere, he said, a calculation based on the Governments official fuel emission figures. If you walked instead, it would use about 180 calories. Youd need about 100g of beef to replace those calories, resulting in 3.6kg of emissions, or four times as much as driving.
The troubling fact is that taking a lot of exercise and then eating a bit more food is not good for the global atmosphere. Eating less and driving to save energy would be better.
Mr Goodall, Green Party parliamentary candidate for Oxford West & Abingdon, is the latest serious thinker to turn popular myths about the environment on their head.
Catching a diesel train is now twice as polluting as travelling by car for an average family, the Rail Safety and Standards Board admitted recently. Paper bags are worse for the environment than plastic because of the extra energy needed to manufacture and transport them, the Government says.
So the Vegan-Greenie-Jackbooted-Thugs want us to just sit in a room, barely breathing, eating little and doing nothing but stare at the wall. Better not blink too much! That could cause - gasp! ... global warming ...!
This is utter hogwash and it should be an indicatator to those of us who are normal, emotionally balanced people that this group of Al Gore worshippers are disconnected from reality. They really are a sick segment of our society. If I had to diagnose their disease, I'd guess that it borders on Mass Hysterical OCD. It is a compulsion with this group. They are hypervigilant in finding "carbon footprints" in every nook and cranny. They obsess on environmental issues - even becoming paralysed with conflict in deciding whether to use biodegradable diapers or cloth.
You know, it is a real problem with the Western World that we obsess on trivialities. We break everything down to its - what we believe are - constituent parts. We have a migraine headache and it is quickly surmised that we have a "chemical imbalance" or too many neurotransmitters floating through our cranium. Like this guy Goodall, we calculate the amount of methane gas generated by cows and extrapolate the offset consumed by plants. We don't feel well so we assume it is because we're not getting enough vitamins - as if your whole body depended on getting 50mg more of vitamin C per day! We are now told not to drink from garden hoses because of rubber contaminants, don't drink tap water because of impurities, meat has growth hormones, milk has pesticides, your computer screen emits low ionizing radiation .... everything is dangerous nowadays.
Americans believe your brain is nothing more than 3 pounds of meat, awash in chemicals. Scientists believe that a 78 gene difference between men and women account for why there is such a wide variance between the two sexes.
Our thinking is divorced from our spirituality. There is no inner structure .. ..we're just fumbling along using our minds to think up newer and newer prisons for our own tortured souls. I'm sure that most of these Greenies are atheists - in fact I know that the president of the Illinois Sierra Club is an avowed atheist. So the green agenda has taken the place of God in their lives.
... And Al Gore is the New Messiah!

If poor Barack would just stand in front of the cameras and not open his mouth, the northshore soccer moms, and other uninformed liberal voting groups, would go bat-shit and vote for him.
Happily he can't continue to keep his comments to himself and that will be his undoing. Hillary is going to fillet this fraud, but then quickly "reconstruct" him in time to offer BO the Vice-presidency.
It is a nice feeling to sit back and watch "The Great Black Dope" implode like a house of cards.
