One of these days I'm going to put together a wine symposium on the blog and share my gleanings of "fruit of the vine" but for now suffice it to say I'm a wannabe wine-snob.
I digress, I was at work the other day and I was paying attention to the terrorist attacks over in the UK over the weekend. Having piqued my curiosity by thinking "What else have the wonderful Muslims been doing worldwide in their attempts at jihad and overthrowing "the great satan"? Such thoughts led me to searching for the industry expert on Radical Islam - Sir Robert Spencer.
Mr. Spencer has written extensively on Islamic extremism and has some coined some memorable titles: The Truth About Muhammed, The Pollitcally-Incorrect Guide to Islam, and The Myth of Islamic tolerance.
I tried to access Robert Spencer's web-site Jihad Watch but was roundly chided by the "Smart Filter" on our network. The department, in their infinite wisdom, has deigned that Mr. Spencer's website contains "Hate Speech."
Hmmmm. Interesting way of looking at things. Here is a best-selling author who points out the hate, intolerance, violence and 7th Century throwbacks within Islam who want to murder all infidels and Mr. Spencer's website is considered "hateful" by our beloved Computer Geeks.
Well I'm not shocked - I've seen this department work and can understand how one desk jockey with an agenda can screw up something for all of us.
Suddenly UK Muslims are afraid of a "back-lash" in the wake of the 2 foiled terrorist bombings:
British Muslims Worry About Backlash
Here again, as always, after Muslims are caught plotting mass murder of innocent civilians in the West, the mainstream media focuses on Muslim fears of a backlash that hardly ever materializes. And here again, as always, the Muslims say nothing -- nothing at all -- about being spurred by the latest uncovered jihad plot to start working harder to identify jihad terrorists within their ranks and turn them over to authorities.
From AP (thanks to Twostellas):
(AP) Name-calling, anxiety, fear and anger rippled through Britain on Sunday after three failed bomb attacks in London and Glasgow. Government and religious leaders appealed for calm, but some Muslims braced for a backlash while some non-Muslims looked for someone to blame.
The attacks sparked scattered incidents of racist abuse on the streets of London, with young white men targeting Muslim taxi drivers and others of South Asian appearance. Glasgow lawmaker Mohammad Sarwar said some Muslims in Scotland had been threatened or targeted with abusive graffiti.
Oh, horror of horrors. Thousands of non-Muslims were targeted and threatened with mass murder. What does Sarwar have to say about what he plans to do to keep that from happening again?
Then do more to prevent it, and voila! Insults and fears of backlash will evansce!
Damn right! Sometimes it makes sense to be intolerant: especially when one specific group is responsible for 99% of terrorist acts then pointing that out is not Intolerance.
And how "tolerant" are the Muslims themselves? Not tolerant in the least. Last fall, on the heels of global Muslim rage against Pope Benedict XVI – which led to riots and three killings of Christians – a teacher in France went into hiding after receiving death threats. His offense? He published a column in the French newspaper Le Figaro in which he characterized the Muslim prophet Muhammad as “a merciless war chief, plunderer, slaughterer of Jews and a polygamist.”
The teacher said that one of the threats he received stated: “You will never feel secure on this earth. One billion, three hundred thousand Muslims are ready to kill you.” As the death threats poured in, everyone abandoned him. The teacher himself noted that France’s education ministry “has not even contacted me, has not deigned to get in touch to see if I need any help.” The senior editor of Le Figaro, Pierre Rousselin, declared on Al-Jazeera that he had been mistaken to publish Redeker’s article, and hastened to assure the Islamic world that the article did not reflect the opinion of the paper.

So here we are again, in a position of watching the world, in an apoplectic spasm of guilt and political correctness, bending over backwards to placate the 7th Century Throwbacks who haven't given Western Civilzation anything for 1,000 years except murder, totalitarianism and darkness.
I should have a t-shirt made that says "Mohammed: The original Thug"
