The thing that I just realized I cannot stand about soccer players is their ability to get lightly brushed by an opposing player and then drop to the ground writhing like they've just been shot! What drama queens!!!
It's on to Brasil tomorrow against France. That should be a good one. We should see about the same level of drama as France's team is riddled with crybabies.

In the interim, enjoy these far side cartoons. ~"Eleven-eddy, squad. Hold me on a personal."~
"What? You've met someone else? What are you saying?
...Oh my God! - it's not whats-his-name, is it?"
"Notice all the computations, theoretical scribblings, and lab equipment, Norm ... Yes, curiosity killed these cats."
"Oh, man! The coffee's cold! They thought of everything!"
Still think we'd be better off modeling ourselves after our socially enlightened brethren in Europe? As the boys over at No Pasaran have noted, just a few years ago putting together an image like this:
Would have landed you in the courts with charges of rightwing extremist activity. Even uttering the word "eurabia" would have the french cops knocking on your door with a warrant. My how times have changed ... now militant gangs of "youths" can torch cars, burn down neighborhoods and pour gasoline on elderly women, and they are protected from prosecution because they are African and Muslim. Europe has its work cut out for it. Muslim assimilation will be extremely difficult because of economic pressures that Europe just cannot cope with. Europe doesn't have the luxury (neither do we) of having infinite tolerance for supporting and sustaining additional immigrants who don't want to blend in .. they want to take over. That's a problem.
Two years ago, the White House's favourite Arabist scholar, Bernard Lewis, gave a warning that Europe would turn Muslim by the end of this century, becoming part of the Arab West, the Maghreb. Now there is a plethora of books with titles like While Europe Slept and Menace in Europe (see article). Stagnant Europe, goes the standard argument, cannot offer immigrants jobs; appeasing Europe will not clamp down on Islamofascist extremism; secular Europe cannot deal with religiosity (in some cities, more people go to mosques each week than to churches). Europe needs to study America's melting pot, where Muslims fare better. ~The Economist
Good luck Euros ... it looks like cultural diversity, tolerance, open borders and appeasement really didn't work after all.

Media darling and war hero Jack Murtha is being bitch slapped by the rightwing blogosphere. And with very good reason. When the Haditha story was published by Time Magazine's Tim McGirk, Murtha was the first to go to the national press and claim that the Marines were "guilty of murder and covering it up." All this without a shred of evidence that the marines did anything wrong. Hugh Hewitt wrote, "I cannot imagine a more irresponsible statement from Congressman Murtha given that the investigation is still open. The Congressman should explain his sources, or face the charge that he has judged the men involved before the evidence is even compiled."
Up until a year ago, Murtha was a nobody. He was known only in restrictive Washington circles. More than likely he was trolling the inner sanctum circles of elitist, leftwing cocktail parties. With his recent presidential aspirations percolating to the surface, going full force against our troops, the war effort and the president seemed the only way for him to get his non-agenda into the MSM. And taking a cue from Cindy Sheehan, it is working. The leftists in the MSM love Murtha, the DailyKOS wants to have his love child and, the spotlight is truly blinding him right now.
The new media did some digging and found that Murtha was listed as an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the 1980 Abscam scandal. While a Nexus-Lexus search shows that Abramoff stories have been published hundreds of time, Murtha's "indiscretions" have been nary a whimper. Aaahhhh. Being a Leftist means never having to say "Double Standard."
Without taking anything away from his decorated war service, I think Murtha is losing touch with reality or, simply using the Iraq War to further his own political ambitions.
Regardless, he should STFU

Many of you heard the story of "Fat" Nick Minucci. He is a Howard Beach, NY resident who caught a self-confessed car thief who was trying to steal a car. A Chrysler 300, no less. "Fat Nick" and some friends caught and subdued the suspect and, during the melee, "Fat Nick" struck the car thief with a bat and said, "We'll show you not to come and rob white boys."
Minucci faces upto 25 years in jail for the offenses and the car thief? He's out, free and singing like a bird.
Compare this story with the following:
The pack of thugs who mugged and fatally beat a New Jersey man outside a Chelsea nightclub had robbed before, police sources said yesterday.
"Get that white m----------r!" one of the attackers shouted before three of them surrounded Thomas Whitney Jr., 24, and threw the first punch, according to two women who saw the beating.
Najib Noor, 19, punched Whitney in the head while Daryush Omar, 20, and Walliullah Hashimi, 22, kicked him as he lay bleeding on W. 19th St., not far from the Spy Club, where Whitney had been partying, prosecutors said.
The trio then flipped the financial analyst over so they could rummage through his pockets and steal his wallet and cell phone, authorities said.
"They traveled in a pack and they beat and robbed people. They went looking for a victim and they found one. They were out to do a robbery. They had done it before," a police source said.
Police said they didn't charge the three with a hate crime because the comment was seen as a way to identify a drunken mark, rather than a racial slur, police sources said. Omar and Noor are natives of Pakistan and Hashimi of Afghanistan.
They were arraigned on murder and robbery charges in Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday and held without bail.
Another suspect, Jaweed Farhadi, told cops the crew had spent the night at the Avalon club on W. 20th St. Police initially thought the suspects had encountered Whitney at the Spy Club. Farhadi and two others were charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
Can anyone explain to me why this dopey "Fat Nick" gets charged with a hate crime for using the "N" word while assaulting a black car thief, and these Pakistanis calling a victim a "white motherfucker" while robbing him is not?
These hate crime laws should all be repealed until there is one standard for everyone. Or, in fairness, change the name of these laws to "White Equilibrium Justice Law" or something to show that Whites are being singled out and penalized just for being caucasian.
The political correctness liberals just succeeded in scratching away one more slice of our freedoms and no one seems to care.
Justice isn't just blind, it's also crippled and crazy.

Too bad he only took 6. As it is he probably saved the State of Washington hundreds of thousands of dollars in SSI, LINK and other welfare expenditures that would have been spent on these people whose brains are swiss cheese because of Ecstasy abuse.
Help these kids. Check out this anti-Rave site. I commented on a prior Rave in Utah and was criticized by a throng of uneducated, adolescent, doped-up, wannabe-cool-ravers, because I had the audicity to take the side of the Police when the cops were called in to break up a 1,000 person Rave. Go figure. I even had one jerkoff leave this comment:
You are a god damned moron. You obviously have never been to a rave, and should keep your piehole shut. There is also absolutely NO good reason that ecstacy is illegal, none at all, except that the fascists in washington like to keep all their sheep medicated on the same drugs, like prozac, paxil and wellbutrin, and can't stand people freeing their own minds.
I hope you die of bone cancer.
Ahhhh ... so "tolerant", so naive, so enlightened. I repeat - Gimme a Break! Stupid is as Stupid does.
Across much of Western Europe, countries fearful of losing their national identities and anxious over struggling economies are seeking new ways to stem explosive growth in immigrant populations. The debates in Europe echo many of those heard in the U.S. Congress.
Ha! Welcome to the results of a liberal immigration policy, Fwonce. Pour mieux être en retard que ne jamais arriver!

The readout shows that the person went to SCC's blog and then clicked through to mine. The interesting part is that the IP address is from a Red Roof Inn in Atlanta Georgia - at the airport, no less.
It might be just me but if I was stuck in the Atlanta Airport Red Roof Inn at midnight, I'd be channel surfing with an eye towards one of the following. I certainly wouldn't be brushing up on CPD gossip, well - maybe alittle.
or the piece de resistance!

Al Gore, the former VP who claimed to have invented the internet, and once claimed "I found a little place in upstate New York called Love Canal," is back at it again. He's continuing to spin hysteria and exaggerations about the environment. He was proven to have a propensity for lying. Regarding the internet, Vincent Cerf created the LINUX platform with the US military's backing - AlGore had nothing to do with it. And 'Love Canal' was an EPA disaster in upstate New York that occured well before he came into office.
Now that Al's movie is out, the scientific community is virtually unanimous is proclaiming that Al Gore is an ignorant fool who knows next to nothing about climate change.
Professor Bob Carter of the Marine Geophysical Laboratory at James Cook University, in Australia gives what, for many Canadians, is a surprising assessment: "Gore's circumstantial arguments are so weak that they are pathetic. It is simply incredible that they, and his film, are commanding public attention."
But surely Carter is merely part of what most people regard as a tiny cadre of "climate change skeptics" who disagree with the "vast majority of scientists" Gore cites?
No; Carter is one of hundreds of highly qualified non-governmental, non-industry, non-lobby group climate experts who contest the hypothesis that human emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are causing significant global climate change. "Climate experts" is the operative term here. Why? Because what Gore's "majority of scientists" think is immaterial when only a very small fraction of them actually work in the climate field.
The Canadian Free Press is a leftwing periodical ... it is telling that even the Canadians think that Gore is full of it.
Appearing before the Commons Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development last year, Carleton University paleoclimatologist Professor Tim Patterson testified, "There is no meaningful correlation between CO2 levels and Earth's temperature over this [geologic] time frame. In fact, when CO2 levels were over ten times higher than they are now, about 450 million years ago, the planet was in the depths of the absolute coldest period in the last half billion years." Patterson asked the committee, "On the basis of this evidence, how could anyone still believe that the recent relatively small increase in CO2 levels would be the major cause of the past century's modest warming?"
Patterson concluded his testimony by explaining what his research and "hundreds of other studies" reveal: on all time scales, there is very good correlation between Earth's temperature and natural celestial phenomena such changes in the brightness of the Sun.
As most climatologists are reporting, the data appears to show that we are in a naturally occuring cyclical event. The impact of human activities seems to be minimal or non-existent.
But Al Gore was never one to let the facts get in the way of his opinion.
It is reassuring to see that someone who you've always known to be an idiot, actually is shown to be an idiot.

What?!?!?!?! A Kennedy admitting that he did something wrong? Is there a sun in the sky today? Is there a thin sheet of ice covering all of Hell?
Wow. I'm impressed that the Kennedy Klan didn't go into full Cover-up mode over this one. Good for them.
That certainly is progress.
Happy Flag day.
Commemorate and honor the sacrifices that our fellow citizens have made over the last 230 years by flying Old Glory.
Da' Coach reflects on the importantance of honoring The Flag:
My Grandfather was a glider infantryman in WWII, an advisor in Korea, and lost one of his sons, my uncle Gary Edwards, in Vietnam. I worked in his auto repair station during high school and he flew his flag in front daily. One day while I was sweeping the oil dry out of the bays it began to sprinkle rain. He told me to go get the flag and I said "gimme a second." He said, "It is raining, go get the flag NOW." Well I popped off my mouth about how he should cool it, it isn't going to melt or some such typical teenage comment....
Today is all about honoring the US Flag. Tomorrow is reserved for this. Westcide Dog is bringing the weinies, marshmallows and cigars.

Salon.com is agonizing over Ann Coulter's critical remarks comments on the outspoken Jersey girls.
For those of you who don't know, The Jersey Girls are a few women who lost their husbands in the 9/11 tragedy. They are vocal critics of the War and GW.
Debbie Rabinowitz writes eloquently of how tiresome their collective whining is getting to be. It is obvious that the Jersey Girls are getting a free pass from the Old Media to say anything - absolutely anything - as long as it fits the Leftist agenda of gloom, doom and criticisms of the GOP, Bush and the War. On the cover of the June 2006 issue of Chicago Magazine, even Kanye West gets front page coverage. You remember him, right? The high power author of such rap hits as "25 to Life", "Ho!" and "I keep MC's lookin out!" caught the media spotlight last fall by saying, "Bush hates black people."
Who, listening to them, would not be struck by the fact that all their fury and accusation is aimed not at the killers who snuffed out their husbands' and so many other lives, but at the American president, his administration, and an ever wider assortment of targets including the Air Force, the Port Authority, the City of New York? In the public pronouncements of the Jersey Girls we find, indeed, hardly a jot of accusatory rage at the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks. We have, on the other hand, more than a few declarations like that of Ms. Breitweiser, announcing that "President Bush and his workers . . . were the individuals that failed my husband and the 3,000 people that day."~ Debbie Rabinowitz
So if you fit in with their Leftist agenda then you're golden. You can go on to the ethereal heights of popularity and ignominy by bashing your country (Andrew Sullivan once said that the US is a "rogue nation"), criticizing the president and claiming all sorts of convoluted conspiracy theories. The MSM counts on the vast majority of people in the US to be "headline readers" - people who don't bother to drill down and get the facts straight on a story. Millions flock behind Cindy Sheehan because they believe that she is "a mother who lost her son in Iraq" and is simply expressing her grief over the loss. For those of us who take the time to read between, behind and under the lines - it is clear that she is just a muddled and pathetic liberal activist who is powered and financed by the Leftist agitators in the mainstream media. Cindy Sheehan has no shame, no boundaries and no idea how much damage she is doing to our country with her unhinged rants about the war and Bush. I don't like Bush very much anymore and I'm a conservative Republican. But I understand that our war effort is important and that our troops need and deserve our support.
The Jersey Girls are now in lockstep with other anti-war, Bush-hating liberals like The Dixie Chicks, Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink. To show you how mentally unstable the Left is, just listen to Michael Berg - father to Nick Berg. Nick Berg was decapitated and screamed for 15 seconds while they sawed his head off.
Michael Berg said :
“I think the news of the loss of any human being is a tragedy. I think al-Zarqawi’s death is a double tragedy,” he said. “His death will incite a new wave of revenge. George Bush and al-Zarqawi are two men who believe in revenge."
Berg said “restorative justice,” — such as being forced to work in a hospital where maimed children are treated — could have made al-Zarqawi “a decent human being.
What a nut. If my son was murdered, the last thing I'd be doing is taking the side of his murderers.
Anyway, Ann Coulter should and will continue to speak openly about the restrictive environment we find ourselves in, thanks to the Political Correctness craziness that is smothering our culture.
Ann, if you're ever in Chicago - call me. I'll get you a Ride-Along. :-)

"Long before he helped pioneer the netroots movement by launching the blog MyDD in 2001, Armstrong served two tours with the Peace Corps, in Costa Rica and Sierra Leone, and was arrested repeatedly at protests with EarthFirst! and Greenpeace. He then spent a year and a half at Buddhist monasteries, meditating sometimes for 14 hours a day. It's an odd résumé that has left him with a calm, almost Zen-like demeanor, a rare feature for a political consultant in the overcaffeinated world of presidential politics. Shunting the traditional preppy blazer and tie, he wore short sleeves and dun-colored Levis."
You'll notice that instant Lefty credibility is attached to him with these revelations:
* he served in the Peace Corps,
* he was arrested,
* he was arrested while demonstrating for EarthFirst! and Greenpeace,
* and then, the pièce de résistance, he spent 1.5 years in a Zen monastery meditating for sometimes 14 hours per day!
Wow! It certainly shows. His advanced level of awareness extends to shunning the traditional "preppy blazer and tie for short sleeves and dun-colored levis" - always a sure sign that you're in the presence of an enlightened being.
The author of the article describes this Jerome Armstrong as the "Blogfather". I thought Glenn Reynolds was the Blogfather? Well the Liberals are good at plagiarising and getting wishy-washy with language. Look at how many of their rants have "democracy", "patriotism" and "freedom" interjected into them. They at least know that those elements are necessary to their own existence eventhough they don't truly support nor understand them. If they did then they'd be supporting our troops and their mission in Iraq.
I bring this Salon article to your attention because I'm concerned. With the conservative base angry with the Bush administration over illegal immigration amnesty, the splintering of the base will continue. The GOP can expect to get soundly defeated in '06 elections. It remains to be seen if the Liberal blogosphere and the DNC can put together a cohesive message that has enough oomph to sell it to the American people.
I doubt it. Pelosi and her Gang of 4 have been saying since 2004 that they would have a Plan for their party's platform ready by spring of 2006. Nothing yet has appeared.
Bush better wake up and get his McCainiacs to knock off the rhetoric and start listening to the people of this country.
No to Illegal Immigration.
