The purpose behind Nuestro Himno

Nuestro Himno means "our anthem" in Spanish.

A group of Latino 'stars' has translated the United States National Anthem into Spanish in order to "show our support for undocumented workers."

MSNBC has the story here.

“We chose to re-record ’The Star-Spangled Banner’ to show our solidarity with the undocumented immigrants and their quest for basic civil rights,” UBO President Adam Kidron said in a news release.

This is utter nonsense. As Mark Krikorian from the Center for Immigration Studies says, "Would the French accept people singing the La Marseillaise in English as a sign of French patriotism? Of course not." I would add that, as appeasement oriented as the French are, one thing they won't stand for are immigrants who refuse to speak French.

Our National Anthem, in English, is designed to send us back to when our country was teetering on the brink of existence. We were at war with the British and it was never a certainty that this fledgling country of ours would survive. Our ancestors came here and left behind almost 1,000 years of tyrrany and oppression in founding an entirely new civilization. The National Anthem puts us right back there with Francis Scott Keyes, seeing the sound and fury of war from the deck of the SS Minnon. It shouldn't be used as some rallying cry in support of illegal immigration. It is a slap in the face to all of us who immigrated legally and are proud United States citizens.

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming!
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there:
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, now conceals, now discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines on the stream:
Tis the star-spangled banner! O long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion
A home and a country should leave us no more?
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved homes and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the Heaven-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause, it is just,
And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Continuing with their agenda-driven crusade, a remix of the song is to be released in June. It will contain more pro-illegal immigration sentiment, including - "These kids have no parents, cause all of these mean laws ... let's not start a war with all these hard workers, they can't help where they were born."

Are they kidding? This is not a song that you should turn into some wishy-washy tribute to something as mundane as immigration. Why couldn't they have taken a KennyG song or a Michael Bolton tune and translated it?

Because they need a political element or angle in their message because, after all, this is all about political power - we have it - they want it.

The phrase "lost in translation" means that the undiluted meaning of a word or phrase gets "lost" when translated because some language don't have an exact word to fit the original. A good example of this in Spanish is "Que te vaya bien." It is what the remaining person says to someone else who is leaving. So it's like saying good-bye but the intent is lost in English. It would literally traslate as "May you yourself go well."

And that's what we're up against here. On the one hand this Nuesto Himno will lose some of the original intent, fervor and fire in the translation from English to Spanish - on the other, it is an attempt at coercing us into blending the US into a truly bilingual society. The actions of these types of groups are purposefully pushing us accepting Spanish as our second national language. As Orwell knew so well, when you control the language, you control thoughts.

What the Hispanic factions are attempting to do is to say, "We're going to take your anthem and make it our own. There's not a damn thing you can do about it! We're going to keep breeding - keeping crawling over the border - and keep screaming about 'our rights' until this government falls on its knees in abaisance to US."

Verso 1

One of the 'highpower' artists on the record is a Miami rapper who's nickname is "Pitbull." His real name is Armando Perez. He recently said that this country was built by immigrants, and "the meaning of the American dream is in that record: struggle, freedom, opportunity, everything they are trying to shut down on us."
Here is a picture of "PitBull" -

It makes me happy to know that the pro-Illegal factions chose such an upstanding member of their ranks to represent them. The stupid look, the gang handsigns and the glorification of the ThugLife - "life ain't nothing but bitches & money" - surely gives "Pitbull" a lot of credibility to comment on what is good for our country. And he even had the forethought of flying the colors which he so proudly represents: Puerto Rico. I'll bet this idiot knows nothing about US history, the constitution or what it is to be a person of good character and decent morals. Message to Pitbull: Stick to what you know - drinking hennessy, smoking weed and banging bitches.

To pro-Illegals: You must be so proud - to be Mexican - certainly not American. Keep waving your Mexican flags at your over hyped protests.

The time is out of joint. O cursèd spite

Bush and his Asshole-Buddies

I used to work with a guy who grew up on Long Island, New York. His name is Steve W. Our collective boss was a schuck who walked around like a rooster in a henhouse. He fancied himself a ladies' man but his most annoying trait was his propensity to smile in your face but to bad-mouth you behind your back.

A real 'leader' in the corporate world.

Steve had a great name for our boss whenever our boss was sitting in his glass office schmoozing it up with someone who we all knew he didn't like. Steve would say, "Look at Sam. He and Nick are Asshole-Buddies."

I said, "What's an asshole-buddy?"

"An asshole-buddy is someone who's an asshole until you need him to be your buddy."

Well Bush and his new Asshole-Buddies have alot of 'splaining to do.

Six Meat Buffet links to a post over at the Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiller blog.

Talk about hitting a homerun!

Check out this rant on Bush and the current puppy-love between Republicans and Democrats:

Oh yes, it’s going to be a fun, fun November this year.
President “Wide Open Borders, as Long as You’re a Criminal” Bush and his kissing cousin Ted Kennedy’s deal to reward criminal activity and thus ensure even more of the same (that’s called “logic.” Reward something — get more of it. Punish something — get less of it) continues apace with Senate RINOs fellating Democrats left, right and center.

This guy hits it right on the head. It's better to get pissed off than pissed on.

Enjoy your imminent minority status, you lying, treacherous, arrogant RINO assholes. You earned it. In spades. Along with our eternal and undying derision and scorn.

AIDS "crisis" a hoax

The Accuracy in Media group is now reporting that the number of people dying from AIDS in Africa has been greatly exaggerated. A couple years ago the Boston Globe broke the story but it took the Washington Post until 6APR to confirm that the numbers of AIDS victims in Africa is not accurate. The BBC cites a study in Kenya that shows the number of victims was half of what was reported by the UN.

"Recent studies in Kenya have confirmed millions of Africans previously thought to have AIDS are disease free," noted the FAIR Foundation. In Kenya, as the BCC reported on January 9, 2004, estimates had put the figure at 15 percent, when a subsequent survey found only 6.7 percent infected.
That's January 9, 2004—more than two years before the Post published its correction of the record.
What the Post didn't acknowledge is the role it played in this fiasco. But writing in Human Events, Tom Bethell commented, "Back in 2000, the Washington Post was one of the main sources of hype about AIDS in Africa."
He explains: "The wildly exaggerated claims promoted by the mainstream media created an atmosphere of crisis. Guided by U.N. Ambassador Richard Holbrooke and Secretary of State Albright, the Clinton Administration took the issue of impending population collapse to the U.N. Security Council. African countries weren't going to be able to field armies or defend themselves because so many young men would soon be on their death beds."

It all comes down to money. If the number of AIDS victims was high, then the UN could lobby for more money. But now what is Bush going to do now that he's pledged $15Billion to combat AIDS in Africa? Maybe he can take the initiative and use that money to help hardworking US citizens to find gainful employment, to create jobs or to lower our tax rates.

That sounds like a good 'strategery'.

French Terror Alert system

I saw this over at http://www.rightwingstuff.com

The French do need such a system. It would make things infinitely easier on the populace as they continue to cave in to the Muslim thugs and to appease the political sensitivies of their ethnic minorities.

The New American male?

Much has been written about the New American Man.

He is supposed to be caring, gentle, sensitive and sympathetic and full of empathy. But does this new male do justice to America? Do you think that Islam is the fastest growing religion because more and more people are using it to design custom double wides?

It is growing more and more because it creates people who's only desire in life is to do Allah's bidding.

I was doing some surfing and found this kid. He seems somewhat normal American. He is from St Louis, Mo.
His profile is at MySpace.com

His general likes are as follows:
"computers, nudity, guitars, web design, recording, thermionic devices, going to shows, IV drips of caffeine, the zener diode, reading magazines, eating cheese, getting the mail, shopping for antiques, girls, red bull, sattelite radio, sex..."

At the other end of the spectrum we have this:

"Shaheed Shafeeq-Madani likes to read the Quoran, pray 5 times per day, maintain his cleanliness and wishes to some day die a martyr's death while serving The Most Holy Allah and His Beloved and Mighty Servant Muhammed, may His Name be Praised for 10,000 years."

While Mikey is downloading tunes to his iPod, surfing porn sites and flipping through the latest issue of Maxim, Shaheed is cleaning his AK-47 and trying to find a way to sneak into the US so that he can do Muhammed's bidding in His Jihad.

I understand why some Muslims dislike the West. Our very presence is an insult to their holy scripture. Our televisions show MTV, E!, Howard Stern and Dallas. We glorify sex and material wealth. We don't live by a code of ethics anymore. We don't have boundaries or discipline.

In short, we're out of control. We have lost our compass. I live here and I can't stand 75% of the crap that gets put out in the mainstream media: Tv and news together. It is a real travesty.

But, we will win eventually. America is the last bastion against Islamic Facist oppression. May God bless her and keep her safe.

Cherish your freedom.

The Left loves 2 things: Doom and Blame. Take the War in Iraq for instance. Does the NYTimes highlight the positive things that US Forces are doing over there? Building schools, bridges, factories, training Iraqi police and troops, adding stability to the region, removing firearms and killing insurgents? No - all we hear from the Left is doom and gloom. "No war for oil", "halliburton", and "Bush lied, People died" - they throw out slogans while painting Americans as gun-toting cowboys who are poisoning the world with greenhouse gases spewed from Leer jets and SUVs.
Do you know why the book The DaVinci Code was so popular? It is because people love to believe that there is some mysterious force at work behind everything - be it numbers, codes, illuminati, conspiracies or the FreeMasons. Look at how the Left jumped on Bush's membership in Skull and Bones?
The Left isn't interested in Truth. They just want a scapegoat to blame for all of our ills. Yesterday it was Reagan, Today it is Bush - we'll see what tomorrow brings.

The Duke case

It never ceases to amaze me how the Left is tolerant and peaceful only when you agree with them. If you have a different opinion on a subject then they name-call, finger-point and hyperventilate. They are hypocrites in every sense.

Now that the Duke rape case has been in the news for a couple weeks, the Left is going to bat on behalf of the stripper.

And why is that? Because she is black and the accused are white.

Worse yet - they are white males - who happen to rich and educated.
Gasp and horror! They they must be REALLY bad kids.

As Michael Savage has pointed out numerous times on his radio show, white males in this country have no advocates. They don't have a voice anymore. The media is stacked against them because the MSM has a tattered history of siding with minorities - regardless of the basis of the accusations. And the minority communities certainly aren't complaining.

When Tawana Brawley accused 6 white men of raping her, the media immediately sided with the victim. Notable black leaders such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson lined up for the media circus and never once questioned the veracity of her statements. Of course it turned out she was as crazy as a March hare and made the whole thing up.

When Mike Tyson was accused of raping Desiree Washington, the media initially didn't know how to proceed. They vacilated somewhat because both accuser and accused were black. However, soon after the MSM went to work in defending Mike Tyson. Ms. Washington was accused of being a "gold-digger" who should have known better than to go to a hotel room with a person who is known to be a vicious animal in and outside of the boxing ring.

Or how about OJ? Everyone with half a brain knows that he murdered Nicole and Ron. A history of abuse, the suicide note, the chase in the Bronco, blood on the scene and the admission to police officers.

Kid gloves.

And because the accused players are white, there certainly seems to be rush to judgement in the Duke case. Eventhough 41 players immediately submitted DNA samples, and no match was found, the prosecuting attorney is still pursuing charges against some of the players. The victim's companion stripper that night never saw or heard any evidence of a rape. The only statement the victim's companion made was a 911 call to say that some locals made a racial slur against her.

And then we have to contend with nonsense like this from an unnamed, leftist website:

Fox cries "Whore!"
E.D. Hill, who has always seeemed to us like the meanest PTA mommy ever to make her way onto cable TV, took the progressive route in discussing the Duke rape case: Let's just skip the messy details and call the accuser a whore. Now, the "Fox & Friends" crew are clearly just a bunch of trained collies (No offense, collies!), but their discussion of the alleged rape victim -- whom they all insist on referring to as "the stripper" -- was pretty remarkable. Hill starts by marveling how much the woman makes as a stripper, then wonders why a student would need to make that much money when her tuition is only $1,800 a semester. Sure, she has two children, but Hill points out that she's divorced, and so "you assume that she's getting some child support" -- a really moronic assumption. The absurdity of a wealthy TV talking head questioning why a working class mother would dare make a living wage is obviously lost on these numbskulls. Instead, Hill imagines that The Stripper could make as much as $800 a day, which prompts co-anchor Brian Kilmeade to wag his tail, get out his super-duper fast mental calculator and report that, at that rate, "you could pay for your tuition in less than a month!"
~ Some Leftist online site (anon)

I knew a stripper who worked at the Tanga Lounge in Tampa Florida. She made over $150,000 per year - tax free - at that club. No prostitution, she was simply a dancer there. I'm sure that if she decided to take up some "work" on the side, she could have made even more. High Class call girls can make $500 to $1,000 per call. I'm not saying that I know what this accuser makes at her job but I'm sure she makes a decent wage.

Additionally, because the accuser is a minority woman, it is remarkable to see how the media immediately takes the side of the accuser. When the roles are reversed, black criminal - white victim, there is hardly a peep in the mainstream media.

Back in 2000, the Carr brothers beat, robbed or raped 7 people - all were white. Today this week long string of mayhem is known as the Witchita Massacre.

Was Jesse Jackson seen trumpeting the cries for justice for these victims? Not in the least. Where is the outrage from Jesse and the MSM at the release of the video of the attack of the Vegas hotel worker by 15 black teens?

Nothing. Just the small drone of crickets in the night.

So I'll wait and see how this story develops but it appears that the prosecutor is being propelled by political sensitivies into charging these young men with something that they probably didn't do.

But hey - what do I know? I'm just some stupid white guy. Is my opinion harsh? Well, just like the rapper Ice Cube said a number of years ago about the racism in the lyrics of most NWA songs, " Some things just needed to be said."

I'll take my cue from "da Cube" and say what needs to be said.

Crackdown on Illegals? Yea, right.

Here is something you need to understand: Your government thinks you're an idiot.

The MSM was all abuzz yesterday with the news that the INS / Feds had begun 'illegal immigrant sweeps' throughout the US.

The illegal immigration "crackdown' the White House is reporting is a fraud.

Over 95% of the illegal aliens they are catching are being released with a notice to appear in court. This is the same useless Catch and Release technique they are using at the border. 90% of the illegals caught and given orders to appear never show up.

This is just a 'wag the dog' action by the US government. They're diverting your attention, and your anger, at their lackluster response to enforcing our immigration laws. They arrested 1,200 nationwide - that leaves 19,988,800 more to go!
In Chicago, the Illegal Immigrant Mobs are already protesting that 26 illegals were arrested.

The INS should pull up in 20 black vans at these protests and just start loading 'em up.

I'm happy that they at least started to do something. We'll see if they continue to enforce the immigration laws.

Go here and here for details.

Bush to INS: Stand down!

The Bush administration has waged a concerted effort in forcing the INS to stop enforcing our immigration laws.

Posted at Michelle Malkin is the following Homeland Security analysis document:

employerstats

As Rubenstein points out, this means that from 1997 to 2003, worksite arrests under the Bush administration fell by a factor of some 97 percent since 1997--and plunged by another 2/3rds by 2004.
Where have they been all this time?
As for getting tough on employers, Rubenstein also notes these stunning statistics: "[O]f the 3,064 workforce investigations closed [in 2004], fines were imposed in just 3 (three!) of them – one out of one thousand. By contrast, fines were imposed in about 11 percent of closed investigations in 1997."

Notices of intent to fine employers:
1997: 865
1999: 417
2000: 178
2001: 100
2003: 162
2004: 3

George Bush has succeeded in reining in the INS and handcuffing its agents.

Thanks alot Georgie - makes me SO fucking happy that I wasted my vote on you : Twice!

How Immigrants Are Treated in Mexico - Robbed, Beaten and Deported

AP reports that immigrants to Mexico, ususally from Central American countries, routinely get beat, robbed and deported by Mexican law enforcement. Although immigrants to Mexico account for only .5% of the population (about 500,000 in total) they are being blamed for contributing to unemployment in certain areas of Mexico. In Mexico, illegal immigrants from other countries are robbed and then deported back to their country of origin. The Mexican government has little tolerance for undocumented workers because those workers take the jobs of Mexican citizens.

The obvious irony is that here in the US, illegal immigrants can get access to social programs, medical treatment, a well paying job and do it all without paying taxes (Oh wait - they do pay sales taxes when they buy things!).

Considered felons by the government, these migrants fear detention, rape and robbery. Police and soldiers hunt them down at railroads, bus stations and fleabag hotels. Sometimes they are deported; more often officers simply take their money.
While migrants in the United States have held huge demonstrations in recent weeks, the hundreds of thousands of undocumented Central Americans in Mexico suffer mostly in silence.
And though Mexico demands humane treatment for its citizens who migrate to the U.S., regardless of their legal status, Mexico provides few protections for migrants on its own soil. The issue simply isn't on the country's political agenda, perhaps because migrants make up only 0.5 percent of the population, or about 500,000 people - compared with 12 percent in the United States....
..
While Interior Secretary Carlos Abascal said Monday that "Mexico is a country with a clear, defined and generous policy toward migrants," the nation of 105 million has legalized only 15,000 immigrants in the past five years, and many undocumented migrants who are detained are deported.

Better yet, while they're here they can demonstrate en masse, run around waving the Mexican flag and whine about how they don't have "rights." All the while never worrying about getting deported.

Mexico has no problem aggravating our country's ills by promoting illegal border crossings, but when the roles are reversed, Mexico cracks down on illegal immigration like a Stalin Purge.

The real DaVinci Code

Some days it is tough to be out there.

It's tough to be out there working, dealing with the public, being a proud American who stands up for this great country. It's tough to hear our Zeropean colleagues criticizing America and her Foreign Policy while they dare not utter a peep about the genocides and horrific political climates operating right now in Russian, China and Burma. Not a word about the ethnic cleansing of Christians by Muslims in Sudan - nope.

Complete silence.

Well I saw this quote posted over at No Pasaran! and thought I'd share it with my brothers and sisters who wear the uniform.

This is the Real DaVinci code. I hope it brings you a little peace and understanding on this blessed Easter holiday.

Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), the Italian artist, writer, inventor, and philosopher who said:
Although nature commences with reason and ends in experience it is necessary for us to do the opposite, that is to commence with experience and from this to proceed to investigate the reason.
Anyone who conducts an argument by appealing to authority is not using his intelligence; he is just using his memory.
As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well spent brings happy death.
Common Sense is that which judges the things given to it by other senses.
Every now and then go away, have a little relaxation, for when you come back to your work your judgment will be surer. Go some distance away because then the work appears smaller and more of it can be taken in at a glance and a lack of harmony and proportion is more readily seen.
Experience does not err. Only your judgments err by expecting from her what is not in her power.
For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return.
He who loves practice without theory is like the sailor who boards ship without a rudder and compass and never knows where he may cast.
Human subtlety will never devise an invention more beautiful, more simple or more direct than does Nature, because in her inventions, nothing is lacking and nothing is superfluous.
I have been impressed with the urgency of doing.
Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Being willing is not enough; we must do.
I have offended God and mankind because my work didn't reach the quality it should have.
"Patience serves as a protection against wrongs as clothes do against cold. For if you put on more clothes as the cold increases, it will have no power to hurt you. So in like manner you must grow in patience when you meet with great wrongs, and they will then be powerless to vex your mind.

God bless and Stay safe.

Further abuses of the IRS

Six Meat Buffet links this story of the IRS's new initiative to allow tax preparation persons to sell your private and personal information to marketing companies.

As if it's not bad enough that our taxes go towards really important programs like - health care for the incarcerated, SSI for the lazy and indolent, and disability benefits for gangbangers who were shot and "cannot work due to their disability" - we must endure the further humiliation of having our personal information sold to unscrupulous advertisers.

If you’re planning on E-filing your tax return this year, you may want to think again. Filing electronically is only going to make it easier for them to sell your tax return to marketing warehouses and make your private inancial information public.

PHILADELPHIA — The Internal Revenue Service is quietly moving to loosen the once-inviolable privacy of federal income-tax returns.
If it succeeds, accountants and other tax-return preparers for the first time would be able to sell information from individual returns — or even entire returns — to marketers and data brokers.
The change is in a set of proposed rules the Treasury Department and the IRS published in the Dec. 8 Federal Register, where the official notice labeled them “not a significant regulatory action.”

Expect more dinner phone calls from telemarketers trying to sell you a time share in Guatemala.

According to the Journal of Accountancy, most of our Tax dollars go towards social spending. We only spend about 5% of our income on military.

No Illegal Left Behind

Mike Gallagher mentioned this on his radio show a few nights ago.

Go to Google and type in the search box the words george bush amnesty. Here is what you'll see:

You'll notice the highlighted hyperlink says, "President Bush Proposes New Temporary Worker program". So it was right after being elected for a second term that he began to foment his No Illegal Left Behind program. Et tu Brutus?

Bush laid out his new plan for Amnesty by invoking the Holy, Inveterate Slogan - "Work that Americans Won't Do" (ie. the lie that dare not be questioned) - as the primary need for an immigration policy that allows illegals to have a fast-track to work, benefits and citizenship.

With unemployment in 40-50% range in large urban ghettos - why do we have to import tens of thousands of unskilled labor from a foreign country? What about the millions of Americans who would love a job laying concrete, constructing houses or installing plumbing? Oh - that's right....those Americans want to be paid a decent wage!

Silly me.

Bush's policy will only make the situation worse. Allowing a flood of illegal and undocumented workers, has increased the amount of available unskilled workers. A larger supply of labor puts downward pressure on wages because employers can pick and choose who they'll hire. Why should they give a job to Harry T. Anderson when Jose, complete with bogus documents and a brand new fake social security number in hand, will do the job for 25% less. To make it even better, the employers can claim that they have "no way" of knowing whether the documents are valid or not. They say that even if they want to check, they can't because then they'll get sued by the prospective employee for discrimination.

Reform must begin by confronting a basic fact of life and economics: some of the jobs being generated in America's growing economy are jobs American citizens are not filling. Yet these jobs represent a tremendous opportunity for workers from abroad who want to work and fulfill their duties as a husband or a wife, a son or a daughter.
Their search for a better life is one of the most basic desires of human beings. Many undocumented workers have walked mile after mile, through the heat of the day and the cold of the night. Some have risked their lives in dangerous desert border crossings, or entrusted their lives to the brutal rings of heartless human smugglers. Workers who seek only to earn a living end up in the shadows of American life -- fearful, often abused and exploited. When they are victimized by crime, they are afraid to call the police, or seek recourse in the legal system. They are cut off from their families far away, fearing if they leave our country to visit relatives back home, they might never be able to return to their jobs.
The situation I described is wrong. It is not the American way. Out of common sense and fairness, our laws should allow willing workers to enter our country and fill jobs that Americans have are not filling. We must make our immigration laws more rational, and more humane. And I believe we can do so without jeopardizing the livelihoods of American citizens.

~ George W. Bush, January 7, 2004

Frankly I'm tired of talking about this topic. I'm almost to the point of giving up. When your country's President is the one leading us down the road to ruin, what can you do? The politicians are too concerned about appearing "sensitive" and continue to ignore their constituents. Americans, meanwhile, continue to scream for a fence, sanctions against employers who hire illegals and increased border security. The senate isn't listening either.

Charles Krauthammer offers some sage advice.

What do you think was said when in 1986 we passed the Simpson-Mazzoli immigration reform? It turned into the largest legalization program in American history--nearly 3 million got permanent residency. And we are now back at it again with 11 million new illegals in our midst.

How can it be otherwise? We already have a river of people coming every day knowing they're going to be illegal and perhaps even exploited. They come nonetheless. The newest amnesty--the "earned legalization" now being dangled in front of them by proposed Senate legislation--can only increase the flow.

Those who think employer sanctions will control immigration are dreaming. Employer sanctions were the heart of Simpson-Mazzoli. They are not only useless, they are pernicious. They turn employers into enforcers of border control. That is the job of government, not landscapers.

We have to build a fence and then assimilate the illegals already here. The caveat should be that they Americanize - learn English and have no criminal history.

Can you imagine Bush standing in front of a group of Nepalese or Yemenese immigrants' rights groups and making the same speech? Do you think that Bush has a hidden agenda? If I was a betting man I'd say his blatant pandering comes down to votes. He sees the hispanic demographics as offering a chance to swing spanish voters away from the cadres of the DNC over the next 20 years. But he won't acknowledge that giving into the insane demands of these mobs is shortsighted and wrong.

And as I see Illegals protesting and waving Mexican flags, My disappointment with this president continues to descend into a maelstrom of frustration.

Some thoughts on Sinatra, illegals and burnout

This morning I removed the blogs4bush blogroll from my links sidebar. I will no longer support this president - not with money, not with votes nor with valuable sidebar space on my blog.

Last year when Bush began to float the idea of Amnesty (yes Michael Medved - it is an Amnesty program) for Illegals, I called the White House to voice my distaste at this unfair and destructive program. The man who answered the phone, listened to me for about 15 seconds, allowed me to finish then said, "Well that's too bad Mr. Michel. We're sorry to lose your vote." The message came through loud and clear - The president doesn't give a rat's ass about you, his voting base, his constituents or the constitution. We want to take the easy way out and will not do anything that causes the White House any criticism. We want that elusive hispanic vote and, if we have to let a few hundred thousand more come in - then so be it."

I've been pretty ornery lately. Pissed off, more like it. Listening to Michael Savage in the squad car in the evenings is not helping my mental state. He says the things that are probably on most Americans' minds - secure the Borders, make English the natioal language and promote American Culture. No one - it seems - not the media, not the administration and not this president are saying or doing anything about the matters that will effect the foundation of our country over the next 200 years. It also doesn't alleviate my agitation when, traffic stop after traffic stop, I get the "No hablo ingles" and gold toothy smile from the offender who is, I invariably learn, illegal and driving without a license and without insurance.

Yesterday on a "holding the offender" call, I walked into the security office and found my two shoplifting offenders. One illegal - 8 months pregnant - couldn't speak a word of "ingles". The other illegal, sitting like St. Francis, was surrounded by a throng of children. The kids' ages ranged from 3 to 8.

I thought to myself Here is exactly the reason why we need to do something about illegal immigration. Neither shoplifter worked a job - they were just baby factories. Anchor baby factories, to be accurate.

The pregnant one said that the father of her child didn't want to have anything to do with her now. (cue the heavy sigh.)

At this point in my screed, I find the need to say that the majority of Americans are good, generous people. We all understand that our families emigrated from other countries. The point - and this is lost in the media frenzy on illegal immigration - is that our families did it legally. Our families abandoned their native languages - italian, russian, polish, german and greek - and began the difficult journey of assimilation into American culture. That included taking english classes, studying American history and applying for citizenship.

America is an idea - an idea that is only workable if everyone who is here considers him or herself an American. Frankly it makes me sick to see this president and our politicians pandering and supplicating to the illegal immigrant factions.

As Sinatra's version of "The Lady is a Tramp" plays softly in the background, I feel that we are seeing the beginning of the end of our country. I see all the corruption and malaise that permeates Mexico and it is just a matter of time before that disease creeps into the bones of America. As I write this, our border towns are under armed assault by roving Mexican drug runners, who enjoy the support of Mexican army regulars. (heavy sigh #2).

When will we wake up.

Usted debe comenzar a aprender nuestra historia.

Baghdad Burning

In the last few years there have been a number of 'authors' who were caught pretending to be someone else. In other words, they were fakes.

The list of fakers includes James Frey and his work "A Million Little Pieces", 'Nasdijj' and JT LeRoy.

Nasdijj, a Native American bestselling author, is in fact, a white male writer of gay erotica named Timothy Barrus.

While the idea of creative writing is based on inventing characters and situations (ie. fiction), the current craze of 'reality" writing has imposed an artificial level of credibility on much of what is published.

Nick Sylvester was fired from the Village Voice for including a paragraph in a story about the novel The Game because he claimed to have had a meeting in a bar with some out of town TV writers.

All of this leads me to this story - encapsulated in a blog called Baghdad Burning.

It is written by a woman who claims to be an iraqi, living in iraq, and writing about the War and American occupation. I just read snippets from it. Her writings are all about how awful it is to have Americans in her country, how brutally savage US forces are, how we are taking credit for rebuilding things that the iraqis themselves are constructing....blah, blah, blah......it's all stuff that the Daily Kos, Moveon.org and Michael Moore are continually pontificating.

I won't show the address to her blog because I don't link to Leftwing MoonBat websites. Well sometimes I do - salon.com most notably. Now, I don't know this for sure, but I'd be willing to bet that this 'girl from iraq' blog is fake.

Yep - I know it's hard to believe that a Leftwing, Bush-Bashing, American-Hating blogger could make up story after story in which the author is nothing that she says that she is but, I'd say that this is the case. The one thing that stands out about the unhinged-Left is their utter lack of creativity. They can't even come up with a coherent plan to battle Islamic terrorists.

If we jump ahead about 18 months from now, I'll bet that the blog author of Baghad Burning will turn out to be none other than Ted Kaczynski. Then they'll have to change the blog title to the "UnaBlogger".

Deluded Demonstrators

Legislation that adds much needed punch to our immigration headaches is not a civil rights issue. The ignorant demonstrators who favor illegal immigration - perhaps because they are here illegally.

Simply mouthing some 1960's slogans doesn't do anything to promote your arguments that illegal immigration is a good thing.

I'm tired of hearing about how "hard working" illegal immigrants are. How about how hardworking the average American is???? How about that?

The LA Times op-ed section really drills down and and NAILS it.
Now, many Latino immigrant-rights organizers and their sympathizers seem to be saying that there is some inherent right being expressed when people sneak into the country, thumb their noses at the law and make fools out of those who wait patiently in foreign lands for visas to come to the United States.

It is quite clear that many of those participating in the demonstrations have adopted the stance of the beleaguered victim, perceiving frustration about illegal immigration as racism. Some comments have been painfully ignorant. One protester said: "I'm here to make sure that Mexicans get their freedom, their rights."

During the student protests, the American flag was only occasionally on display, while the Mexican flag was omnipresent. A student said he was waving the latter in support of La Raza (the race), while another asked why illegal immigrants were "treated like criminals." Perhaps he wasn't aware that crossing the U.S. border without the required visa is now, and always has been, against the law.

Prank Caller Arrested

Maybe this story belongs over at Six Meat Buffet's White Trash Wednesday column. Well for once I've beaten Preston to the punch.

Florida officials have arrested an 18 year old man on disorderly conduct charges after he confessed to calling women and claiming he was shot and lost in some wooded areas. Police and Fire dispatched units and a helicopter to look for the victim.

"Hey Pugsly! Put down the phone and pick up a carrot!"

In Chicago, many bogus calls to 911 go unpunished. During a six-month period back in 2005 - 3,896 prank calls to Chicago's 911 emergency center were placed from a pair of phone numbers at a single West Side address. To the best of my knowledge, nothing happened to that home. Maybe they were fined - but I doubt anyone went to jail. On the West Side, it is common to get an anonymous "shots fired" call and, when responding units arrive, it turns out to be bogus. Do these anonymous callers, who frequently call 911 from their cell phones, get arrested? No.

In Los Angeles, 85% of the 3.6 million calls to 911 were not emergencies. Part of the problem is that people have a problem and automatically call the emergency number. Some are not educated as to what constitutes an emergency.

An 18-year-old in Volusia County, Fla., faces charges Friday for making several prank phone calls to random women claiming he was bleeding from a gunshot wound and wandering in some woods, according to a police report.
Volusia County sheriff's deputies and a helicopter crew searched for nearly 90 minutes early Friday after women contacted dispatchers about the disturbing calls.
The caller told the women during the calls that he was shot and bleeding in a wooded area off Fatio Road and Beresford Avenue near DeLand, Fla.
During one of the calls, the man gave a name.
Deputies tracked down the provided name, but the person wound up being just another victim in the prank, the police report said.
The women had a number for the mystery caller and the sheriff's office used it to contact the man over the phone.
Deputies then met with William Wager, 18, and he confessed to making the calls to the women, the report said.
A complaint affidavit charging Wager with disorderly conduct will be forwarded to the state attorney's office.
A motive for the calls was not reported.

One day last summer I was on Zone12 when I heard the following come over the air (I swear to God this got put out to a
beat car) :

Dispatcher: "2515"

2515: "2515"

Dispatcher: "2515 - there is a disturbance on your beat. See the complaint Mr. Ramirez at 25XX N. Mango. Mr. Ramirez would like to see the police because his neighbor's garden hose is on his lawn."

2515: "10-4"

Part of the issue is that 911 call takers don't filter much garbage - they just put out whatever they get in. That attitude comes from the threat of lawsuits. God forbid that Mr. Ramirez, in the above example, was told to grow up and deal with the problem like an adult. God forbid he was told to go over there, inform his neighbor that the presence of his neighbor's garden hose was not appreciated and that if the hose made an appearance on Mr. Ramirez's lawn at any time in the future, the aforementioned garden hose would end up in the nearest City of Chicago garbage can.

Phony calls to 911 hurt the system in innumerable ways - they tie up the lines of communication, divert resources from real emergencies, and expose first responders to needless injuries.

Maybe if more people were arrested and fined for pranks like this, the system would work more efficiently.
