Jersey Girl Fatigue

As I punch away at the keyboard, the streaming sounds of Holst's The Planets suite pounds through the air with power and spite. Mars, The Bringer of War is an apt piece to play in the background while writing about the current and unrelenting attacks on Ann Coulter from the unhinged Left.

Salon.com is agonizing over Ann Coulter's critical remarks comments on the outspoken Jersey girls.

For those of you who don't know, The Jersey Girls are a few women who lost their husbands in the 9/11 tragedy. They are vocal critics of the War and GW.
Debbie Rabinowitz writes eloquently of how tiresome their collective whining is getting to be. It is obvious that the Jersey Girls are getting a free pass from the Old Media to say anything - absolutely anything - as long as it fits the Leftist agenda of gloom, doom and criticisms of the GOP, Bush and the War. On the cover of the June 2006 issue of Chicago Magazine, even Kanye West gets front page coverage. You remember him, right? The high power author of such rap hits as "25 to Life", "Ho!" and "I keep MC's lookin out!" caught the media spotlight last fall by saying, "Bush hates black people."

Who, listening to them, would not be struck by the fact that all their fury and accusation is aimed not at the killers who snuffed out their husbands' and so many other lives, but at the American president, his administration, and an ever wider assortment of targets including the Air Force, the Port Authority, the City of New York? In the public pronouncements of the Jersey Girls we find, indeed, hardly a jot of accusatory rage at the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks. We have, on the other hand, more than a few declarations like that of Ms. Breitweiser, announcing that "President Bush and his workers . . . were the individuals that failed my husband and the 3,000 people that day."~ Debbie Rabinowitz

So if you fit in with their Leftist agenda then you're golden. You can go on to the ethereal heights of popularity and ignominy by bashing your country (Andrew Sullivan once said that the US is a "rogue nation"), criticizing the president and claiming all sorts of convoluted conspiracy theories. The MSM counts on the vast majority of people in the US to be "headline readers" - people who don't bother to drill down and get the facts straight on a story. Millions flock behind Cindy Sheehan because they believe that she is "a mother who lost her son in Iraq" and is simply expressing her grief over the loss. For those of us who take the time to read between, behind and under the lines - it is clear that she is just a muddled and pathetic liberal activist who is powered and financed by the Leftist agitators in the mainstream media. Cindy Sheehan has no shame, no boundaries and no idea how much damage she is doing to our country with her unhinged rants about the war and Bush. I don't like Bush very much anymore and I'm a conservative Republican. But I understand that our war effort is important and that our troops need and deserve our support.

The Jersey Girls are now in lockstep with other anti-war, Bush-hating liberals like The Dixie Chicks, Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink. To show you how mentally unstable the Left is, just listen to Michael Berg - father to Nick Berg. Nick Berg was decapitated and screamed for 15 seconds while they sawed his head off.

Michael Berg said :
“I think the news of the loss of any human being is a tragedy. I think al-Zarqawi’s death is a double tragedy,” he said. “His death will incite a new wave of revenge. George Bush and al-Zarqawi are two men who believe in revenge."

Berg said “restorative justice,” — such as being forced to work in a hospital where maimed children are treated — could have made al-Zarqawi “a decent human being.

What a nut. If my son was murdered, the last thing I'd be doing is taking the side of his murderers.

Anyway, Ann Coulter should and will continue to speak openly about the restrictive environment we find ourselves in, thanks to the Political Correctness craziness that is smothering our culture.
